A wood restaurant in the middle of a little coast town in Iceland. Very nice!
Fish in the island is a must, that’s the reason why we order the creamy fishsoup and the fish & chips for dinner.
A humble meal but really well cooked.
We had a wonderful time!

Thank Pascual M

After driving from Reykjavík we stopped in the beautiful town of Ólafsvík located just blocks from the ocean. Original plan was just an appetizer. But after looking at the menu we had to order more. The calamari was the best we’ve ever had. We also had the fish and chips. Both were excellent. One of the best fish meals we have ever had!!

Our group of 5 went to Hraun twice during our weeks stay in Olafsvik. As previous reviewers have said, the prices in Iceland are a lot higher than the UK so no surprise the prices of our burgers were quite a bit higher than at home. We generally stuck to the burgers and pizzas as anything else was just too expensive. Both meals that we had were enjoyable and were of very good quality. Interestingly on our second visit we got more chips with the burgers than our fist trip! And yes, they (chips) are far too salty, but nevertheless, still tasty. The atmosphere was great and service excellent, the staff were very pleasant and friendly. Both times we were in it was busy, probably as we were told it was the only restaurant as another across the road had closed down - so best book.

You have to remember that Icelandic food prices are very expensive compared to the UK.
However. with this caveat, this restaurant has the best food and service that I experienced in the south western part of Iceland, making it very good value for money.
The service was superb and food was tasty, hot and filling. As a group, we visited twice and on both occasions we were pleased with all aspects of the dining experience. Chips were slightly too salty but this was quickly remedied by the staff. One tip: due to popularity it is best to book ahead!
