Review of Bang Saray Beach

Bang Saray Beach
Reviewed 6 April 2018 via mobile

Food ridiculously expensive compared to local competitors

Owner seems okay but only stocks what he likes not what his customers ask for

Drink prices - 90 baht for small Leo compared to 70 for a big Leo elsewhere

They are taking the p155

Totally ugly and filthy it is here. Tons of plastic waste gathering to beach from the sea. Every available space at the land full of garbage. I can't understand these local people of their undertanding of lice.

Also, gathered tens of dangerous glass chips on morning walks.

There was a german couple, aged round 60, who was every morging collecting garbage and taking it to trash bin. No locals came to help.

Don't go.

I often walk my dog on the beach in the early morning, no doubt the best time of day there.
The beach is nice enough but many visitors seem incapable of putting rubbish in the plentiful supplied bins, this tends to spoil the look.
A couple of hotels do clean their sections in the mornings but they are more private areas, whilst you cannot be stopped from walking on them, i do not think you are encouraged to sit there as a non hotel resident.
The public access area gets crowded and as i mentioned dirty with litter especially at weekends.
There are many food vendors on the public area and a number of bars along the beach front for an afternoon beer or feed.
You can swim in the sea at Bang Saray, its water is a bit cleaner than Jomtien.

We went to this beach on a Monday morning. Besides the drunk Thai, almost nobody there. The drunk guy never moved. My children asked if he was dead.

We have lived in Thailand for 4 years, and visited many beaches, from Rayong to Koh Samui. Bang Saray was very narrow - only about 10 meters from concrete seawall to water. No vendors for chairs, tables and umbrellas - I liked that. Few vendors for food and supplies. Several restaurants close by.

Everywhere you go in Thailand, there is trash. Here, there seemed to be less than in Pattaya, the most popular beach in the area. Pattaya has developed a lot in the past 15 years, and the development is pushing south to Bang Saray. This is still and clean and quiet place to visit, but only 20 minutes to the shopping malls, big hotels and tourist attractions of Pattaya.

Sadly the beach needs a good clean up, there is rubbish all over it and I dare say its not the only one. We ate at the beach but didn't swim due to the above reason. Its a pity really as all it would take is a couple of people to walk the beach each day and collect the rubbish and the beach would be great.
