Was there with hunny, overalls a great hotel. What a view of sun set !!! Got an amazing cocktail from the bar, called Pinky sun set. Creators were Thisara and Chndana . Amazing people . A mind blowing view of sun set and a great drink. I wonder whether anyone could get a COCKTAIL more better than that around the world. Will visit them again.

Cape Club service is excellent.Lakmal/Thisara/Nalin are very kind persons. They made our stay unforgettable. We always had Sri Lankan’s best teas! We are really enjoying the afternoon teas , the delicious cakes and the atmosphere. We’ll definitely return! Great service, great people! This is the Cape Weligama!

We recently stayed at here for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon. We had a Junior Suite which was amazing - the bed was the biggest I have ever seen! There is so much attention to detail in the rooms too which makes everything so easy - loads of water, plenty of towels, a huge bathroom with two sinks and a separate dressing table etc.
Both pools are fabulous, although we particularly liked the Moon Pool which is bigger than it looks in the photos and has incredible views.
The food was also incredible and there is a lot of variety on the menu too. I liked the separate veggie menu too as it was nice to have lots of options. The setting is also beautiful in the main restaurant and the Surf Club.
Whilst the hotel itself is immaculate, it’s the amazing staff that made our stay unforgettable and makes us want to return again. Everyone is so friendly and happy. We were treated like royalty and nothing was too much trouble. We’re so grateful they made our honeymoon very special indeed!! We highly recommend a visit to this amazing hotel.

We, as a family with a 9 year old kid spent 4 nights at Cape Weligama resort. This was probably most amazing stay we had had until now. Just from the very first minutes you enter the property you are treated as a special guest and feel yourself VIP.
Check-in and check-out are very smooth and take almost no time. At the check-in we were treated to a home-made tropical sorbet which gives a nice pleasure in a hot day after long flight.
We stayed in one of the master bedrooms which is very close to the Cove pool.
Room service is excellent which is held twice daily.
Pool attendants are very diligent and immediately offer chilled water bottles and beach towels to the guests who come to the pool.
It felt like natural habitat with amazing fauna and flora in the territory of the resort. It was common to see peococks wondering around the pool area, monkey family jumping on the trees, or chipmunks running around.
Resort offers opportunity for a whale watch tour which we gladly used. We saw a blue whale, pilot whales, as well as couple stringrays. Although this tour may be a bit tiresome and a little expensive (165 us$ per person) but you get once in a lifetime opportunity to watch those beautiful animals.
Both Cove pool and Moon pool are very nice.
Food at the restaurants was awesome. We would like partiucarly to mention Chef Vinnol who did all his best to meet all requests and inquiries for custom made dishes which were not even on the menu. One day we ordered custom made seafood platter, mixed deep fried and grilled sea goodies spiced up with local herbs and condiments which was high above expectations.
Cape club cocktails were top notch.
Spa experience is worth trying.
Staff, particularly Natasha from the front office was extremely helpful ready to meet any inquiry and desire in a most efficient way.
The hotel is very family friendly place where kids get special attention from each and every staff member.
Last, but not least, shop at the resort offers variety of Dilmah tea at a very reasonable prices especially to the ones at the airport.

We do all we can to ensure that our guests have a wonderful stay in Sri Lanka and that their needs are carefully catered for. Chef Vinol would be delighted to read your feedback. This was our second visit to this hotel as we enjoyed it so much the first time. This is a very luxurious hotel. We stayed in an ocean view villa with a shared pool although we preferred to go to the moon pool which is for adults only. The villas are gorgeous and exceptionally spacious with a huge terrace which is covered in case of rain which was just as well as it rained for most of the six days we were there. We went for afternoon tea each day which has shrunk considerably since last year. No longer the traditional plates of sandwiches, cakes etc. but a scone and piece of cake. Bit disappointing. Also last year we had a fish market once or twice a week where you could choose your fish, say how you wanted it cooked and it was brought to your table along with salads and sides. This has gone too. One thing we were not happy about was the fact that people were reserving tables in the restaurant even though they didn't appear until we had almost finished. It should be first come first served. It is not necessary to reserve tables.

However, in spite of these small annoyances we had a very relaxing time and were well looked after by the friendly staff.

Thank you Polly for gracing us with a second visit. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay. We've dispensed with buffets and offer a wide range of à la carte options at your table including a great selection of seafood. A scone and cake is served complimentary at teatime. The afternoon cream tea service with the full selection is available at $30 for 2 people. Warm wishes, Malik J Fernando
