Very nicely furnished, almost like a design hotel; very, very nice garden, the sea is directly behind the garden though you cannot use the beach because it is too small to lie there. The beach in Weligama could be a dream beach but in July it was too dirty to use so we had to go to Marissa for bathing. The house keeping family is very nice and helpful. the only disadvantage is the street which is directly near the house and which is very loud. We had to use earplugs to sleep (in Sri Lanka they do a lot of horning!). There are windows in the house that have no glass so the noise can come in uninsulated. Maybe it becomes better when they finish the new freeway and they have less traffic on the A1.

This cosy little beach house is perfect for a quiet getaway- at a distance (but not too far) from the busy resort towns. We enjoy cooking so it was great to have such a well equipped kitchen, and our son loved the beautiful garden with the sea just at the end. Mr Sunset and his wife, the immediate caretakers, not only keep the place spotless but also prepare the most delicious Sri Lankan meals.
