“Its sinking every year”
Review of Sinking Bell Tower

Sinking Bell Tower
Reviewed 6 April 2018

According to kuya jerome our driver/tour guide, the square that we saw is already a window. The door was already on underground. It is sinking every year because of the sand where it was built.

This unusual structure is sinking, courtesy of the soft loam on which it was built. Its companion cathedral is nearby. You cannot enter the building but its colour and remnant of a doorway [originally to allow for a mounted man to ride through] make it a worthwhile 5 or 10 minutes.

Visited this when we went to laoag city, it's a great landmark to ensure you don't get lost. The actual building has slowly sank so the entrance was once tall enough that you coulkd ride through in horseback but now you would have stoop just trying to walk through

It's unique to see only takes a few minutes. Like the rest of the country don't get over run by trikes, the kings of the road.

the bell is unique and is in the middle of the street, very interesting. We went here as a stop over, the Church nearby is amazing.
