This place has a terrific position overlooking the karst cliffs on the opposite bank of the Nam Song River. The gardens are beautifully kept and the reception staff are obliging with advice on onward travel. However, the rooms are somewhat tired and the shower room of mine most definitely needed updating. On two out of three mornings I had to ask them to restart the hot water as it had run out. This they did very promptly it has to be said. Being close to the boat station it is noisy after sunrise and around sunset as longtail boats and paragliders race up and down the river. However, the setting is so beautiful that these problems are easy to forget.
Breakfast is average for Laos and the restaurant food is pleasantly varied in the evening. A decent mid-range choice for this town.More
