Let me start by saying that I'm an Accor Gold Member and have stayed at multiple hotel chains across the world, but I have never experienced the type of hospitality anywhere in the world that we experienced at this hotel.

First, hands down, they care a lot about their guests..on a personal level. They try to find out what you like in terms of diet, in terms of activities, in terms of room preferences and do whatever it takes to get you what you want and like. We were vegetarian, and the chefs, especially head Chef Michael and Head Chef Vikram were phenomenal and catered to our needs at a very personal level. A big shout out to a particular server in the restaurant, Sailesh, who every single time provided absolutely amazing service to us for every meal (we were in their half board package- which includes breakfast and dinner- highly recommended!). Also, the half board is very useful since it does get dark after 6-6:30pm and traveling on some roads might be dangerous (not from crime standpoint, but just in general if car breaks down, a lot of twists/curves in many of the roads, poor cell network in certain areas of the island, etc). But the island in general was very very safe as far as what we felt (we rented a car and had no issues self driving).

The hotel upgraded us to a beach suite upon arrival for all 5 nights we were there, as well as provided us a late check-out (benefit of Gold membership). The suite had an amazing view of the ocean..and every room had its own private backyard and also another area with an outdoor rain shower! We had our own butler all the time - and all of them were great- thanks so much to Krishna, Dinesh and Raj, who took care of every single thing we needed while at the hotel. Last but not least, the head of staff and guest experience, Mr. Yannick Balancy, who in spite of his high level and post being so busy, knew on a personal level everything we wanted and has one of the best personalities and leadership skills in managing hotel staff that we have ever come across. On the day I left, the deputy manager, Christine also met me personally and asked for feedback on the stay. This shows that even though they know guests are happy, they still try to find out even the smallest possible area for improvement from guests and work on it.

If you want to stay at an excellent 5 star hotel, with great value for money and ultimately the best in guest satisfaction, and to be treated like family, go to this resort hotel...you will I'm sure thank these reviews on TripAdvisor and make your stay in Mauritius much more unique and enjoyable. I'm 100% sure we will be going to this hotel again when Mauritius calls for another vacation!..I just wish other hotels across the world could learn or train from the staff at this hotel and see what is true customer commitment.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here on holiday for 10 days in July.
It was a perfect location by beautiful beaches and the sea.
Our room was very clean and tidy with a lovely private garden and outdoor bath, outdoor and indoor shower and a very comfy bed! We were brought top ups of water, tea and coffee daily as well as little food gifts like macrons in the evening!
The food was delicious every day- always looked forward to seeing what the chefs had made! And evening entertainment was also fantastic.
The service by the staff thought out was outstanding, they are very helpful, friendly and accommodating.
We did several all activities while staying here; pedlo, stand up paddle boarding, glass bottom boat and a cocktail making session were all included by the hotel and excellent.
We also wanted to get out on our own to explore the country and they were very helpful helping us book scuba diving, island visits and the hire of a car.
All in all, everything was perfect!

The courtesy level of the staff is better than excellent. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The chef made every effort possible to incorporate our Vegetarian diet needs; special meals were cooked for us every day and chef Vikram personally made sure we were comfortable. The front desk is helpful and eager to help The rooms are large and well maintained. An excellent resort with excellent staff. Good Job guys!

Had a magical birthday experience at Sofitel So from 29 June to 6 July.
We had a delayed from Air Mauritius flight into Mauritius and arrived late at the hotel just before 10pm.
We were warmly welcome by the staff and butler Raj and pleasantly surprise to be upgraded to a beach villa 202!
They also extended the dinner buffet for us to 1045pm so that we could have a quick meal before resting!
Small little touches of decorations on the king size bed every other night and especially on my birthday evening, my room was shined with stars!
We had a breakfast and dinner included into our room package and every night there were different theme of dinner served. The most enjoyable for me was the Mauritius cuisine with the Sega dance and music! We also enjoyed the Asian night cuisine with beautiful "Red colour" decoration.
As it was winter and low season, the property was extremely quite and throughout our stay we had 2 good sunshine days and the rest were cloudy, some rains and very windy!
Unfortunately we can't do any water sport activities but we had a couple of good gym sessions and received good advice from Adriano the gym instructor!
The guest experience staffs Krishna and Yannick provides excellence hospitality to accommodate our car rental requests and found us nice "DoDo" flip flops as my birthday gifts ! Krishna always check on us if we need any assistance with our sightseeing!
One special trainees; Grirish ( Dimitri) is very hospitable and most friendly !
Anastasia also worth to be mentioned for her kind gesture from the first evening we met until the last day we left!
Last but not least, the best butler in Mauritius; Raj or Rajic ( Raj + Magic) was always seen him running about to please the guests! Take it easy Rajic ;)
Good housekeeping team as well as the buggy service to drive us from parking side to our villa.

Some feedback to help the property are
1. To keep the stray cats out from the restaurant
2. The band performing on Friday, Saturday was boring! We like the Monday singers and Sega!
3. More Mauritian or Creole cuisine on buffet nights.
4. La plage was closed so we have to go out for lunch.
5. Drinks and wines were overpriced and hopefully there will be more discounts for Accor plus member.

Me and the missus were looking for a good hotel and got one for this special occasion. Food was good and room was very comfortable. A wide bed, an outdoor shower and bath, and even a bit of a private garden were the small things making quite a change.
As often, we did not need much of help from the staff but the welcome was very different to what we are used to. We were taken straight to our room on arrival where all formalities were done. Thats a first and we cannot fault this concept.
We treated ourselves to the spa and it was very relaxing indeed.
Our first time at So Sofitel and we hope to visit again.
