Visited restaurant with my husband for the first time. We were very impressed with the menu and the 2 for 1 offer. I was really in the mood for fish and chips so ordered that. When it came my first impressions were that it looked fresh and appetising. Unfortunately I could barely cut into it and had bits of batter pinging all over the table! The fish was very chewy - felt like I was chewing on beef jerky! My husband enjoyed his burger and we were happy with the service. Just a pity about the over cooked fish

Disappointed to hear that your fish was not up to our usual standard. Thank you for giving us feedback as we appreciate all comments from our customers and try wherever possible to improve.

We seen a sign just saying 2 for 1 and the road was very busy where we was going for tea so thought we would call in but what it didn’t say on sign on the road was it was a Marston’s pub as I love them so was very pleased. First time for the rest of family though and they loved there meal was the best we had since been up here. And the puddings were very nice to and friendly staff

My husband & I had unexpected changes to our plans so we were passing here and decided to have our Dinner for the first time.
We were shown to a table by a pleasant young lady who took our drinks order and then served by a lady called Larissa who was smiley and friendly and put us at ease straight away.
The food was good, hot and tasty. The bill was excellent £17 for two meals of ribs, chicken and corn in the cob and two drinks of Pepsi.
Definitely be back when passing.

If you are in the area this is worth a visit for lunch. Very much a pub menu but good choice of food and very good value with 2 for 1 on all mains all day every day. Friendly service and space for the kids.

Myself, sister and mother went to the Old Colliery for a meal, on arrival we were told as they had a big party - 10 people!! we would have an 1hr wait !! Really surely any restaurant can accommodate more than 10 people, we were then escorted to the children’s play area although there were plenty seats elsewhere needless to say we walked out and will not be going again
