“Wonderful Exclusive Private Upgraded Home w Acres and views”
Reviewed 9 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

Very pretty property with upgraded kitchen, walk to swimming hole, comfortable beds, friendly staff. The caretaker was very informative about the moutains and what to expect being from the city. Everyone is on well water and septic here and they have excellent drinking water, been tested, the staff takes water home it so pure. Loved the slate shower and second marble bathroom with a jacuzzi tubs with view outside.
We felt so at peace and quiet here but one mile to groceries stores, and ranger maps as well as we hiked the river trail and swam at the neighbors swimming hole, best around. Getting to yosemite was only 30 minutes. Would definitely come again.

If you are planning to visit Yosemite this house is a long curvy drive to Yosemite Village. The septic tank needs to be pumped unable to sit outside for coffee or in the evening due to the sewer stench. We left one day earlier than booked due to the smell. Sink in one of the bathrooms does not work. Will never rent this house not well maintained.

Management Response
4 Oct 2017
This response is in regards to Maria’s review of our property in the Yosemite National Park Area.
Upon meeting these four older women, they made it clear they were on a road trip from New Mexico and were looking forward to visiting many monuments and points of interest along their way. They had an itinerary and what I figured to be a very full one as I’m more than familiar with the State and these distances they were going to be traveling.
Her first comments bore this out to be true. Long winding roads to get to Yosemite. What did she expect? A paved four lane to the gate and then expressway all the way into the valley? America’s Crown Jewel of the NPS sits in one of the most beautiful areas in our country. And yes, it is REMOTE. As you would expect it to be. It usually takes two full days to take it all in. Not just a day trip of a few hours. Sorry ladies.
Upon arrival they asked about our laundry service area, which I explained was not in use due to high demands on our water systems here in the mountains that were in the recovery process of a long drought. The asked again, promising to be frugal so I allowed it with promises of light laundry loads. They must have done a weeks’ worth of laundry. I also explained about the use of septic tanks and leech fields to dispose of our wastewater and excessive use of water for clothes and showering put a high burden on this system. I mentioned we ask our tenants to space their shower times and use of water. It appears these words didn’t mean anything to them. The result was an over-burdened system which in turn released its fumes through the roof venting (which is what they are designed to do). At different times according to the winds direction, these fumes are prevalent. The septic tank is not full. I blame lack of knowledge on these women. I had one of them call me to tell me the toilet won’t flush. I asked if she pushed the handle all the way down and she said she wasn’t sure. These are low flow toilets. In California they are the norm for conservation. She called me later in the evening to say that the toilet worked perfectly well after a full flush. We host hundreds of occupants a year. Some of them very large parties, and the only time there is ever a problem is by over burdening the system. All of them know how to flush a toilet.
On one other occasion, I was called and told that there wasn’t a hair dryer and that they needed a hair dryer..!! There were also lights out in the bathroom. I can’t imagine four middle aged women on a road trip without a hair dryer. I made a trip over, purchased a hair dryer for them and replaced two light bulbs. The third was loose and was screwed back in.
In the past we have received almost 100% % star reviews from our guests. These four women couldn’t be satisfied. I do not recommend any home owner’s book these four. You won’t get a good night’s sleep, they’ll run you in circles and then leave a nasty review.
The only people satisfied about their road trip is their husbands.

“Secluded but secure..”

Very nice secluded rental that has a security system that works (take my word for it - we triggered it twice!) Modern and clean kitchen with spacious bedrooms. Originally I thought we would not spend much time at the cottage but once my sister spied the Weber grill, it was game on! We spent our days in the national park (which was only a short drive away) but most of our evenings were spent on the veranda, grilling chicken, salmon and corn that we purchased in the nearby town of Oakhurst. The mountain views and peace and quiet was something special after a long day. The night sky was pretty cool too. A delightful stay made even more so by the the property manager Steve and his wife Opal. They gave us a warm and friendly welcome that went a long ways to making us feel right at home.

“AMAZING weekend getaway - beautiful house with breath-taking views!!!!”
Reviewed 23 April 2017 for a stay in March 2017

After just moving to CA from NYC, Liza's Bass Lake house was the perfect weekend getaway from the big city. The check-in/check-out process was seamless. Liza and her house manager Steve were friendly, attentive, professional and informative during the process leading up to our arrival and were accessible via phone/text throughout our stay if we needed anything. They were even kind enough to push back our check-out time to help accommodate us after a travel delay caused us to arrive a lot later than we planned. The house was clean, well-equipped with everything we needed, safe (alarm system was a huge plus), and in a perfect location! The property was quiet and scenic and a short drive to the beautiful Bass Lake! We had breakfast on the beautiful porch overlooking the breath-taking mountains; hiked on the gorgeous Bass Lake trails along side incredible waterfalls; cooked in the amazing, new kitchen and just had an all-around perfect weekend. We could not have asked for a better weekend and hope to come back to visit! Thank you Liza for everything!!!
