This time I finally got to stay at Elderberry with falls view (well, sort of, there are alot of trees blocking it). Parking is a bit of a nightmare specially on Saturdays. There is road construction going at this time, so please follow road signs. Your GPS will send you in circles.
Room condition: This is a nice place to stay especially if you have little ones. The only complain I have is the heater radiator noise( ticking really loud all night). Past that, I'm a happy "lodger".
Look at the view I had from my balcony.

We stayed here for 4 nights in October on the advice of friends who knew we are early hikers. It was costly for what you got, but very convenient to be up early and on the trails while others were still driving into the park from outside locations. The rooms are basic, no heat or AC, but fans and small heaters are provided. It is a noisy place, paper thin walls, loud hallways, and depending on your lodge, a lot of bus and car noise. Again, trading off normal lodge expectations for convenience. There was a mixup on our room reservation, and the manager did her best to accommodate our request considering the lodge was pretty full. There is a small fridge so we brought our own breakfast and trail food. Wifi was very slow and tv limited if you look to have those available in your room. We did rent bikes one day from there which was convenient and priced reasonably. Overall, a great location option compared to the price of the Majestic or sleeping in a tent.

My wife and I stayed the for 3 nights at the end of October 17. This was our third stay at the lodge, it is a little basic but it is all about location, location, location!!!! There is no better place to explore the park from. The rooms are clean and ours had been recently refurbished, they are comfortable and all you need if you plan to be out in the park all day. The bar is great and a lively place, but limited menu for food, The Mountain View Restaurant had great food and service. The food court (canteen style) was a little basic for breakfast. I will be back again but you need to make reservations a long time in advance to get a room. There are only two minus points, the walls are paper thin and if as we did you have a family with young kids your are disturbed by the noise but that is not an issue when you are in the best location in the world! Also it is not cheap but it is a sellers market, though the bar is reasonable and the open fire will warm even the coldest feet.

The Lodge location is ideal for seeing the most popular sights in Yosemite. The Lodge offers a selection of restaurants and a pretty good bar. At the time of our visit the food court was closed for renovation. The rooms are basic but the baths have been remodeled. The not so good is that sound travels through the lodge. You hear doors slam and noise above you if you have a ground floor unit. The lodge is also a meeting point for Asian travel groups. At times over a 100 day trippers may be eating box lunches in the open courtyard of the lodge making the whole area very crowded. The Lodge is quite pricey for what you get but its the only act in town other than the Majestic which is twice the price. Don't expect much and you will not be disappointed!

We knew that it would be expensive for what you get because the location is awesome. The room was well equipped and comfortable. But the staff was truly surly. Over our 3 night stay, I think only one staff person (our housekeeper) greeted me or even returned my “good morning”. Everyone else (front desk, shop, restaurant) clearly didn’t want to be there. Lots of frowning faces.

Also, shuttle service is sketchy during November, and we ended up walking far more than we expected. Detours in the valley caused them to stop certain routes without notice.
