We celebrated a birthday dinner here on Saturday. The location is challenging but they do the most that they can with basement space. The Berliner Schnitzel was very good. The meat and cheese board was a little over the top with very out of the ordinary items that are more for real foodies than average people. The food quality and presentation for all the meals was very good. Desert was very flavorful. Dinner service was a little slow but it was Saturday night. Our server was very good when we was concentrating on us, but he seemed to have too many tables to take care of all of us well. We stayed on and had a nightcap in the bar. Service there was very good.

What a treat. Absolutely delicious food from apps to main course to dessert, nothing was disappointing.

We started with the "Charred Cabbage Salad" - a vegan salad that was almost too healthy for this body. Tons of veggies and delicious. Then, as suggested by our fabulous waitress Jessica, we tried the duck pierogies. There were three small pierogies but oh so flavorful. And then, as an additional app, we tried the sauerkraut balls. The taste of sauerkraut did not overtake the rest of it. There were 3 small balls on the plate and they were terrific.

For our entrees, one of us ordered the short ribs which just fell off the bone. And the flavor! Incredible. I had the Jaeger Schnitzel - also delicious and not so much that we felt completely stuffed by the end so we topped it off with dessert - a chocolate creme broulee and a brown butter brioche with buttercream.

And still, we didn't have that stuffed feeling.

On my way to the ladies room I saw they had plenty of rooms for private parties. And, if you have trouble walking there actually is an elevator. You just have to ask where it is.

This was a terrific, tasty meal which we thoroughly enjoyed and thank you to Jessica who was a doll and made some great suggestions.

I tasted a great dish from Bauer at the Cincinnati Food and Wine Classic over the weekend and was impressed and wanted to try more dishes. I met a friend after work on a Wednesday evening. It was very quiet and we received excellent service. We shared a few dishes including the house cured meat plate, spaetzle gratin, and the Parisian gnocchi. The meat plate was great. I loved the strong mustard. The spaetzle was creamy and delicious. The gnocchi was just ok. I learned it is better in an Italian restaurant. Our server mentioned the menu will be changing soon so I am excited to return and try new things.

My wife and I recently dined at Bauer as part of a large group. For our mains as part of a prix-fixe menu , I ordered the short rib and my wife ordered the tuna. The short rib was cooked perfectly and very delicious. I thought the tuna was a bit over cooked but still very good. The blackberry strudel for dessert with house made ice cream was very good, as well. The restaurant is in the basement of the building and has a very nice bar. Overall, it was a very good dining experience.

First time visit, two tables are outside, remainder of restaurant downstairs, nicely decorated, good menu, we had Berliner schnitzel which was well prepared and quite tasty. They do the light pour routine for your 1st glass of vino then a better portion for glass number 2. $11 for a glass of cab. I'd return.
