Description: Andrae's Kitchen, the brainchild of Classically Trained Chef Andrae Bopp, was Walla Walla's First Gourmet Food Truck. Andrae's Kitchen has now expanded to include AK's at the Co-op, inside the Walla Walla Farmers Co-op. Think of a food truck on steroids! If you can't stop in there, you can find the truck usually parked at the area's wineries on most weekends, serving up their riff on classic street food. Andrae's Kitchen is also one of Washington's premier caterers and can create custom menus for any type of event. Remember as they say, "If you're hungry...Eat something!" AK's at the Co-op is open 7 days a week from 6-6 and 6-4 on Sunday. Serving Breakfast and an expanded menu, utilize the drive thru or come in and dine.

We had a gyro and a set of the premium tacos (all three types). It was excellent food, everything was delicious. It was quick, service was good, staff were friendly, it was really convenient. Loved it!

This place is in a convenience store behind a Cenex service station. There is a seating area. Everything is made from scratch. I ordered tacos and watched as the tortillas were being made. The cod on the fish taco was fresh and moist. The smoked prime rib on my other taco was flavorful and delicious. My husband had a prime rib French dip. A steak lovers dream. The coleslaw was good. The poutine was cheesy and irresistible. There is no sign on the building but the steady stream of locals know where it is. Unique menu offerings. We may try to get back before we leave town.

Despite Andrae's renown as a caterer, the convenience store food is little more than passable when you're hungry

Andrae and his kitchen are amazing. The man is a self-actualized five-star chef delivering first class food at a truck stop. Truly! The guy turns his back on main stream cooking success to come to Walla Walla and start a food truck. The food truck is so successful, he takes up a stationary kitchen at a truck stop and can't keep area gourmands from beating down the doors. The story and the food are that good!

You want the greatest, most flavorful sandwiches? He's got them. You want knock you out homemade soups? He does them. Need fish taco's so good they'll make Dory jealous? Yep...he does those too.

The day my wife and I visited Andrae's was packed with nearly the entire population of the city. Yeah, there is a little wait at times, but all the waiting folks are all still smiling and waiting patiently because they know how good it is. It was Fat Tuesday in New Orleans, but the Mardi Gras party was playing out behind he counter in the form of very special gumbo, etouffee, red beans and rice, shrimp and grits, beignets, and yes, even King Cake.

Are you kidding?? In Walla Walla?? Heck, yes.

You need to go to Andrae's Kitchen. Don't sweat the gas pumps, 18 wheelers, greasy spoon ambiance and the lines. Take it all in, absorb the primal culture of perfect lunches, and enjoy foodie life like it was meant to be. You will be amazed how perfect a simple place like Andrae's can be.

Stopped by here, as it is always a staple on my visit to Whitman College ( my son is on the tennis team here) . Had the huevos rancheros, and the flavor was spot on. What can you say about a restaurant in a gas station. It is the best and well worth a visit. Love this restaurant, as it delivers good food, flavor with care, and the quality is impeccable.
