The location for this hotel is unrivaled. Right across the road from the beach, with many restaurants and shops within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful. They helped us out with bus routes/timetables and we were given a discount book upon arrival. You could also book tours on site which was extremely helpful. The rooms were clean as well. The negatives - while clean, the room was tiny. There were only 2 of us, but we could hardly move around. Not sure if it was just our room, but we had 2 double beds which made it very cramped. The shower/bathroom was also small. We did pay for a 'partial ocean view room', but mainly the view was of the building next door! only when you venture onto the balcony, lean over and look past your neighbors balcony could you see the ocean. Also, the loud noise from the air conditioning of the neighboring building was terrible and gave us grief while trying to fall asleep. If your main priority is location, I would definitely recommend this place. But if you after an A+ room, I would look elsewhere.

Overall, a pretty good hotel. We only stayed for one night as we moved on to another hotel, but my first impressions were average.

The staff on the front desk are very friendly and very helpful. The biggest issue is that on our floor, at about 7am in the morning, the noise of the staff outside. Too loud. Also, if it's a very windy night, the corridors of the hotel are also noisy.

Overall, the room's are pretty good. Bathroom nice, clean and spacious; on the other hand the rooms are a little small but clean. Nice TV, but the hairdryer didn't work.

Good for just the night or a short stay.

Room Tip: Ask for one where the staff aren't loud in the morning.

We paid more for the view and it was well worth it. The room was clean, big enough and looked right out on to Waikiki beach. The hotel provides beach towels (and were friendly while doing so...) and it's only a few steps to the beach.

There were some additional charges. $15 for car parking, $40 for a wired internet connection (no wifi available) and there's no breakfast. We walked past the ridiculously long queues at Eggs & Things - it looked pricey and nothing special.

I'd stay here again for the location alone.

Room Tip: Get a high room and pay for a view of the beach.

I stayed here just yesterday for two nights. I was lucky enough to receive an upgrade from a very helpful Andrew Graham. However that helpfulness stopped as soon as we arrived. The staff was unfriendly and condescending at check-in. You have to check out beach towels because you are not trusted to return them otherwise every time you want one. We were abruptly answered when we inquired about in-room internet ($10 extra and it isn’t wireless), and I was treated like a child when being explained how to park (hotel is better used without a car but if you have one it’s $15/night and very awkward). Finally I have never been asked to sign and initial in so many places upon check-in at a hotel, so if it is a matter of a $50 difference, stay at the Sheraton Waikiki or the like where I could have stayed for a similar rate (booked one month in advance). Room was clean and view was nice, but very noisy patio because of A/C on top of the building across the alley. You want to be high for the view, but then the top floor but you dead on with the noisy machines across the alley. The beds were comfortable, showers tiny but clean, but did not feel welcome at this hotel. It’s a hi, bye, your money please kind of place. Don’t ask for too much more than that through the glass window at this hotel’s reception.
Finally, I used a 10% promo code that I found online on boards where it said it was possible to use without a problem. When I arrived, I was asked to validate that rate with proof of membership...so I guess it depends on who checks you in. The man that checked me in (and out) was very mean-spirited. He also charged me back for the room price difference.

We chose this hotel over cheaper hotels like the Sheraton and Ohana East largely because of the reviews on this site. We were very disappointed. Rooms are tiny and only have double beds. AC is loud and the lanai is pretty useless because of the noise from the neighboring building's AC unit. Thin blankets too. Only redeeming feature is the central location
