“Best breakfast view in honolulu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2012

I only go here for breakfast but it is a great breakfast with a sweeping view of ala wai harbor and ala moana park. The lobster benedict is really great. They have a good coffee selection as well with choices of island blends that you don't find most places. Kids do well here because of the open air feel and ive never had to wait for a table on a weekday morning. It is out of the way on the makai side of ala moana center so a lot of people probably don't realize it is there.

“Better places for the money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2012

Nice view but disappointing food. My veal Parmesan($35)no pasta was possibly the worst I have eaten. My wife's shrimp and scallop dish was OK but nothing special. The service was fair except the waiter could tell I was not happy with my veal as I had only eaten a few bites and ignored me until he quickly left the bill. This was our second and last visit.

“Menu on the website is not the menu you will order from”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 January 2012

It's also much pricier than one might expect when looking at the menu on the website. The view is amazing & that is definitely what you are paying for. I have to echo other comments here about the service-once we found out that just about everything that had appealed to us in the on-line menu wasn't available, & ordered mainly appetizers for entrees, our waitress clearly didn't want anything to do w/us. Interestingly, the tables on both sides of us, seated well after, had their food long before we did. In the end, we couldn't wait to leave & have no intention of ever going back.

“Reference Standard”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 January 2012

We were in Hawaii to visit family but got away often to lunch. Years ago we enjoyed Longhi's in Maui, so we thought we would visit the Ala Moana location. We were not disappointed. The place is a bit out of the way at the mall, but once you get there you won't be sorry. The room opens up to magnificent ocean views. The setting is very comfortable with raised booths and attractive tables and chairs on the main floor. Let me get to the food. After you are seated you soon receive a plate of wonderful pizza bread that is hot and delightful. A salad added would really complete a sensible lunch. But who wants to do that on vacation? I had the prime cheeseburger and she had the lobster sandwich. This cheeseburger is now my reference standard. The meat was delectable and the garnish items were fresh and top quality. The sandwiches include house baked buns. Then the ample plate of fries, which were fresh and wonderful and satisfying. Not greasy and obviously made from premium potatoes. The lobster roll was equally good with a generous amount of lobster and could please New Englander's. You may not first think of a burger when going to Hawaii, but this one was a great part of the trip. Be honest, you do travel to eat!

“Incredible view, darn good food, reasonable prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 January 2012

Went here on a tip from our hotel as we were looking for something more interesting than hotel food or McDonalds. This place faces the Pacific (see photo below) and is on the 2nd floor of Hawaii's largest shopping center.

You will not know, once you are in the restaurant, that you are in the shopping center. One whole side of Longhi's is open air, facing the Pacific. The view is incredible -park land and then the ocean.

We had breakfast - many good options. Several different forms of eggs benedict, pancakes, french toast, omlets, etc. all in the $8 - 14 range. Good things for lunch and dinner too.
Not the least expensive, but far, far less expensive than many places looking out over the ocean.
