Visited for half day snorkeling trip. Get there early as the beach fills up very quick. Snorkeling was very good and really got to see a lot of fish and marine life!

The bay is beautiful and the beach is nice. The snorkeling is good if you’ve never done much snorkeling. Lots of fish, urchins. Not much pretty coral to see. At low tide it’s pretty shallow and hard to maneuver.
But, go just for the beach and the setting. It costs $7.50 to get in, but that’s not bad. Parking lot is too small so either go early or find a ride.

This is a must do if snorkeling is a special occasion activity for you! We went on our first day after arrival (since you are up early anyways), got a parking spot and got right in. The walk down to the Bay is a steep hill. You watch a short video and you are in! I would recommend buying snorkeling gear (or bringing it) at the beginning of your trip. The rental fee here will be close to what you can buy it for. We got to see two Hawaiian Sea Monks - super cool. There were a lot of beautiful fish and corral to look at. Long walk back up to the car - I would take the tram.

I have only been to the lookout area of the park which is up above looking down over the bay. It’s a beautiful sight!
