This is a small but beautiful aquarium that will teach you about the local sea life and habitats. Don't miss the very playful monk seal!

This aquarium was very small but interesting. I would recommend it if you have children and have about an hour to visit. It was close to our hotel so we were able to walk to it.

by no means the largest aquarium, it is still worth the price of admission, and can teach a lot about Hawaiian marine life.

We have been to many aquariums in our travels and this one is just average. The best thing about it is the wonderfully engaging docents who actively share their knowledge with guests. The docent who was by the sea urchins during our visit offered to let us touch one. The quills of the sea urchin react to your touch by touching back to determine if you are friend or foe. I asked what would happen if you accidentally touched a quill directly and she said, "Well, then you'll prick yourself, but at least it isn't poisonous." The day we visited was VERY hot (90+ degrees and high humidity) and it was not comfortable inside the aquarium. I think this would be a good place to bring children, but that adults might be bored.

The fish tanks have some of the most colourful sea life I've ever seen. It is expensive and isn't very big though, so if you aren't into fish, I don't think I would recommend going.
