This hotel is very nice, and the private beach is brilliant to have to get away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. The minibus into the centre of Honolulu was useful and the staff were friendly. The restaurants are lovely. I would highly recommend this hotel if you have the money however it is a little on the expensive side and you need to get a bus or a taxi to go anywhere other than the hotel.

Mahalo for choosing The Kahala Hotel & Resort for your recent visit to Oahu. We enjoyed reading all of the positive comments you provided and we are so delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay. The Kahala does offer the best of two worlds being minutes outside of Waikiki for a peaceful location, as you mentioned away from the hustle and bustle. We do provide a complimentary shuttle for our guests to go to popular shopping destinations and into Waikiki. Many enjoy having this service, alternatively, we offer complimentary bike rentals.

Mahalo again for staying with us and we look forward to being of service to you during your next visit.

We have held an annual business event at the Kahala for two years. The staff is second to none with Grace Chan at the helm. The entire staff is always pleasant and engaged with the guests. The food in each of the restaurants is superb. The Dolphin Quest is an experience everyone should have in their lifetime. David Swanson in the lounge is an accomplished pianist and musician. Our guests thoroughly enjoy this hotel.

Room Tip: Variety of room locations. Ocean front rooms are ideal but there are also rooms overlooking the Dolphin pool that are wonderful as well.

Our room was right on the dolphin lagoon, we were able to enjoy the dolphins whenever we wanted as they were right next to us. Our room was large and comfortable. Each employee we encountered was extremely nice and gave us outstanding service. The Kahala Beach Resort is on the other side of Diamond Head from downtown Honolulu and perfect for your privacy. We were only steps away from the secluded beach area. We enjoyed our five night stay to the fullest.

Service here is the best. Everyone is so nice and seem like they really care about this hotel and about making a good impression. We had an excellent stay. We will come back again. The Italian restaurant here is exceptionally good.

Room Tip: we like the quiet rooms overlooking the golf course

My wife and I go to Hawaii every couple of years. I used to live in Honolulu so it is very familiar to me. Of course living in a place offers a very different experience than being a tourist. Yet in Hawaii it can be difficult to not cross paths quite often.

The Kahala is truly a very special place, and not only because of its very special location. It is situated in such a way that there are no other hotels anywhere around. The Kahala area of Honolulu has long been one of the most exclusive parts of Honolulu. The hotel is directly on its own beach. It is surrounded by the most impressive Waialae Country Club & Golf Course so all the surrounding area is really beautiful. If you don't happen to get an ocean view the golf course and mountains are are a nice vista as well.

From the many times we have stayed there I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience. But then I tend to be kind and empathetic when requesting service.

Another exclusive to my knowledge that the resort offers is the resident dolphins. They have several in their lagoon and you and get in the water and have your picture taken with them. This is a really big hit with the kids believe me. It is always busy.

This property is not new, but it is maintained in pristine condition, and I tend to be on the picky side. I even walk around outside the perimeter of the hotel where guests don't venture and just look to see how those places are kept. Even the service dock is clean and organized.

If you don't want a rental car they offer a very convenient shuttle service to the local shopping mall and the tourist ghetto of Waikiki, if you wish to go. The mall is highly recommended, and I think you know my opinion of Waikiki.

In summary this is the place for you if you have the means. I might mention that many famous celebrities choose to stay here, and we have seen several in previous trips. One wall in the shopping arcade has many of their pictures taken while staying here. From Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra to more recent musicians, movie stars, and politicians including former US Presidents.
