We bought four day passes, covering five different hop on hop off routes. Our first guide (Christopher) was fantastic! As we and another couple were the only people on the trolley, he acted as our personal guide and gave us tons of interesting facts. The different routes cover various parts of the island and range from an hour round trip to 90 minutes round trip. We used our four day passes to experience most of what Waikiki had to offer and, all told, for two, came in at under £100. Not bad for the distances covered and the times we used the tickets.

The red line is a great overview of Waikiki and has a lot of great stops. The blue line is awesome! It takes you out to the coolest beaches, but it is tour, not an activity. The pink line you can pay $2 and ride to any of a bunch of shopping areas in the district, then pay $2 and ride back to your hotel. Or you can pay $25 and ride the whole day. Get the tour brochure and plan your days by the drop off points.

This is our third trip to Waikiki, and on each, we have taken advantage of the Waikiki Trolley to supplement our walking shoes and gotten to most places we wanted to go. This time, we note that the Trolley has added a Purple Route that takes you to Pearl Harbor and that area of Honolulu - a much needed route. Last time, we took The Bus to get there. Warning, though. Yesterday, we took The Pink Line and intended to get off at Ala Moana Center (mountain side), a published and scheduled stop, and the driver skipped that stop. We asked him why, and he said he always skips it when he's running late. We had mapped our route to where we wanted to go, about a mile from the Center, starting at the missed stop. It caused us a bit if confusion trying to figure out where our starting place was. Our best advice is to tell the driver which stop you want and make sure he or she is going to honor that stop.

Cheaper than taking a cab. Run pretty well every 15 mins.....$2 per person cash only on boarding. Cheap and cheerful. The driver that we had on Halloween had the best painted face mask ever....we enjoyed seeing the reactions from the passengers when they saw him.
