Owner description: Since opening in January 1999, the Battleship Missouri Memorial has attracted more than 8-million visitors from around the world with a fascinating tour experience showcasing the USS Missouri’s unique place in history. Located a mere ship’s length from the USS Arizona Memorial, the Mighty Mo completes a historical visitor experience that begins with the “day of infamy” and sinking of the USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and ends with Japan’s formal surrender aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945. The USS Missouri had an astounding career over five decades and three wars – World War II, the Korean War, and Desert Storm – after which it was decommissioned and donated to the USS Missouri Memorial Association, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Association operates the Battleship Missouri Memorial as a historic attraction and oversees her care and preservation with the support of visitors, memberships, grants, and donations.

I was amazed at the size of the Missouri and found all of the sights very interesting. The tour guide was very informative and open to questions, and I liked the fact that one could tour solo after the guide finished his part.

Was an amazing tour. We went to the very top. Was a very physical tour for a 72 year old lady, but so worth it. Our guides were knowledgeable & professional.

This was a very emotional tour, and overwhelmingly sentimental. I felt the hurt and pain that our men went through that horrible day. I will never forget and not should anyone else.

Large fighting vessel, not unique, but if you like battle ships... Was very hot when we went, so be sure to wear sun protection, take a hat & water.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this magnificent ship. Those involved in managing and presenting this ship should be hugely congratulated. Staff were all extremely proud of this ship and came across in a professional manner. The preservation of the artifacts and story boards throughout the ship were first class. Thank you to all concerned. A must visit for those interested in a learning why you need a strong and well trained military.
