Owner description: A 184-foot memorial honoring the 2,388 Americans who died during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

The USS Arizona Memorial and the Park Service has done an incredible job telling the story of the attack on Pearl Harbor! I recommend arriving early to get free tickets for the theater and the boat trip out to the USS Arizona. Once you get your tickets, you will have time to go through the exhibits inside and outside (also free of charge). Please be advised they do not allow ANY bags (including purses, diaper bags, camera bags, etc) inside the park. The parking lot is a HIGH THEFT area, so hide your bags out of site prior to arriving! On another note, I felt the Navy personnel could have been more professional. As a retired Veteran, when in uniform, you are Ambassadors of your service. For some tourists (including American taxpayers) this is their first contact with the American Navy. Being courteous and respectfully directing guests, instead of giving orders would go a long way. Also, when the boat slams against the dock and nearly knocks some elderly women off their seat, an apologetic comment would be appropriate.

I would highly recommend to anyone who has not toured. This is a must see. There is so much information including happenings before, during and after the occurrence. We took a tour and were escorted right in. It was worth skipping the lines.

We took the audio tour and was able to book this and the Missouri for the same day. This is a great way to put 2 great pieces of American history together, however if you'd like to spend more time at one or the other you may want to separate them.

We went online the day ahead and were able to get two tickets to the USS Arizona Memorial. We arrived early and all of the standby passes were gone. I highly recommend getting tickets online or risk missing this requisite experience. The memorial is moving and tragic. It is honestly haunting, how many people senselessly lost their lives here. The only thing I would do different is to schedule it towards the end of my Hawaii trip, as I found the experience hard to shake and it really affected my ability to enjoy the next few days.

Really good attraction to understand the world war 2 and the history of Pearl Harbour, the United States and Japan at that time. The place is open to the public and you can not enter with a bag. They will charge $5 to keep your bag in a safe place or you can leave in your car/ bus. Make sure you don't leave value stuff. You can watch a movie with an explanation and after take a bote to the memorial.
