A must go if you are in the Newport area. Food and service were top notch. Had the 3 course prefix menu with ravioli. halibut, and choc parfait and all 3 tasted amazing.

Add on top of that a picturesque sunset view and you have yourself a winner.

We stopped here for lunch and my wife remarked after the meal "this is the kind of place where, if you have to ask how much it costs, you don't belong." Fortunately I don't have to ask.

The facility is gorgeous, a generous grounds with multiple lodging options for vacationers. The dining room itself has excellent water views, so you can enjoy watching the sailboats while dining. There's a generous patio where you'll need reservations, and you may opt in good weather to dine on the lawn in an andirondack chair. We opted for the dining room and were happy with out window seat.

We started with some libations. My wife's Bellini was quite dry and properly bubbly. I got a "bocce on the lawn", a savory concoction of gin, celery seed, tomato and cucumber with a little sweetness--very refrfeshing.

Keeping things light, we went for a couple of appetizers and a salad. I am never interested in raw shellfish unless the restaurant seems first-rate and is near to the source, so I ventured into three littleneck clams, served on a metal tray full of ice (could have held 24 of the clams) with lemon, cocktail sauce, and minionette. I tried the minionette, good but overpowering for the gentle clams, so for the last two I limited to a few drops of lemon. My grilled Romaine salad was also delightful, a nice mix of bacon, cherry tomato, groutons (sort of a deconstructed BLT?) and a good creamy Italian dressing.

My wife's choices did not quite please her. The lobster chorizo chowder was over powered by the chorizo, and the calamari had pepper rings (tyical New England style, it seems) but there were jalapeno and other hot peppers in the mix, making the rings a bit too spicy for her taste.

Service was as expected for a restaurante of this caliber. But note that the tab for this excellent but modest lunch, plus tip for the wait staff and the parking valet, approached $100.00. If you have the means, you can enjoy this luxury

We live in Rhode Island and whenever we have out of town guests this is a "must go" destination. Impeccable service, excellent menu (and the real thing delivers!) and the setting is true Rhode Island. In good weather sit outside and in bad weather get a window table inside. A little pricey but so worth it!

If you are looking for delicious food, ambiance, service - look no further. We were married at the Castle Hill Inn last year but this time we came to dine in the formal dining room. From start to finish, the food, service and overall experience was spectacular. This is where you want to bring someone you'd like to impress! Thank you for a great experience.

It is difficult here to get a table and there is seating by the bar, but the best experience is to grab an Adirondack Chair on the lawn and enjoy a lunch as you watch the ships sail by. On the expensive side (a Root Beer was $5.50) but the Lobster Sliders were more than ample. A wonderful way to spend a Newport afternoon.
