Description: At The White Horse Tavern we strive to create a fresh, contemporary culinary experience in a historic tavern atmosphere. Like generations before us, we serve the freshest fish, clams and lobsters from Narragansett Bay along with just-picked produce from local Rhode Island's farms. We embrace RI's vibrant food scene to bring you the very best artisan cheeses, honeys, prime cuts of beef and local fish right off the boat - all in a Colonial tavern that's been serving America for over 350 years. So join us for a taste of 21st century Rhode Island in our 17th century White Horse. You won't be disappointed!

Touted as one of the oldest taverns in the country in 1673? the atmosphere is old style Americana. The service was excellent. The food was excellent. It is definitely worth stopping in and enjoying a memorable dinner The Nostalgia in itself is worth the experience. It is warm and quaint!

Truly a cozy, romantic historical place. Table service was good. Bartender at bar was very good and engaging. Food just didn't justify the prices. Either lower the prices a bit, or boost the flavor in the food.

We stopped in by chance because we were driving by. What a beautiful restaurant. We sat next to the fireplace, enjoyed cocktails and a delicious lunch. The staff were all very attentive and friendly.

For starters, get the pork belly, calamari, clam chowder (but keep in mind it's broth), and foie gras. Entrees you need to try are the beef wellington, scallops, monkfish, duck and lobster mac and cheese. Brussel sprouts with bacon, truffle fries, and carrots are must have sides. Great setting, warm ambience, wonderful service. Can't wait to go back.
