Ranked #20 of 243 Restaurants in Newport
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: USD 5 - USD 14
Cuisines: American
Description: NO shoes or shirts required! You order at the counter, when your food is ready we call your name and you get your own food. We have plastic tables. If you are looking for upscale dining there are many fine restaurants in Newport. We are famous for Twin Lobster Rolls, Clam Cakes, Fried Clams & Fish & Chips Great prices for freshly prepared seafood. Enjoy your meal on our deck over looking Easton's Beach and Newport's beautiful Cliff Walk . We are NOT your average snack bar but we are a snack bar!! History Established in 1998. Our twin lobster roll special started when our bread supplier shorted our 9 inch rolls that we used to make our single lobster roll. Instead of cutting 6 inch rolls to make a 9 inch long roll we added a little more lobster and made twin rolls. Our customers were surprised and delighted to get two for the price of one so we kept them on the menu. It's such a great deal! We are open everyday

Lobster rolls, clam strips, fries, all excellent, fresh, reasonably fast. Mostly carry-away, though we sat on the deck, enjoying wide view of the beach, ocean waves, people-watching. They feature twin lobster rolls, and they were full and tasty.

Downside: come in the middle of the day by car, and you can expect to pay $20 to park. Much better if you visit as part of day at the beach.

The sign at the snack bar warns beware of the seagulls. It is true. Given half a chance, the seagulls will roll in hot and snag a delicious clam cake right out of your hand. They know good clam cakes. Order them with chowda for dipping. Awesome. Beware and enjoy.

We visited this beach in Rhode Island as an adventure for a field trip, we were pleasantly surprised with a great beach and a very nice place to grab something to eat. Service was wonderful and the food was fine for the environment. Well worth a visit.

I am a simple person when it comes to lobster. Although I love it in some dishes, I truly adore it simply adorned with hot melted butter. Eastons was all it is cracked up to be from all that we read about it before choosing it. Lucious need I say FRESH, da Newport what else would it be?!, cooked perfectly in a beautifully grilled or toasted roll with nothing but a tiny bit of shredded lettuce and giant chunks of lobster meat nestled inside. A lovely cup of butter tossed in for good measure. It was magnificent, seriously magnificent. It was served with some awesome beach fries which were so crispy and tasty on their own as well!! Fear not lobster salad lovers, this place touts a pretty awesome lobster salad roll as well. We did not taste that one, but a table of 8 next to us all had them and were claiming the same best ever arguments we were! We were in Newport on a rainy July day, so eating at a beach snack shack may not seem ideal, but we couldn't give a crap for the atmosphere...eating a lobster roll on a beautiful beach was far luxurious enough for us! So if you are looking to dress up and have a nice dinner this may not be the place for you...but if you are looking for lobster butter and bread that is worth driving from New Jersey for, eastons is undeniably the place to go! Ps my son had to work, and couldn't accompany us...so they really accommodated us by giving us a deconstructed lobster roll to take home, and suggested a cup of slaw instead of the fries for the long ride home. He will be thrilled tonight!!! One last mention, we spoke to two men there who were locals and said they love to come here when it rains....not so many tourists as on a good beach day and they get to have their favorite lobster rolls! I only wish I could have had room to taste other menu items! Almost forgot, great service too!!!

Place looks less appealing, but food is amazing
I had the lobster rolls. Parking is easily accessible if you just tell attendant you are going to the snack bar.
