We drove from Sedona to visit the Pueblo ruins at Wupatki. We visited the main ruins at the Ranger station/visitor station and then a 2nd one just 2 miles away which you could climb on. At the Ranger Station we were provided with a book for a self tour. The ruins are only about 200 meters from the station. My 17 y.o. and 8 y.o. both enjoyed me reading the historical facts to them as we walked through the ruins. My husband asked a Ranger who was doing work questions and he shared more about the history of where the people lived, water sources, wtc. Very interesting. We drove the Wupatki Loop back towards Flagstaff and for to see the Lava field which was amazing. This activity is good for all ages.

Beautiful setting for native heritage site. The scenic drive is well worth the trip, but definitely get out of your car to learn how people once lived in this harsh environment.

This was a 3 in 1... We enjoyed the the crater and lava site. Then drove the loop rode north towards the Wupatki pueblos and had amazing view of the Painted Desert. The pueblo sites were remarkable, over 800 years old and well maintained by the National Park services. This activity is a good-at-your own pace. Great opportunities for photography. A must do!!

Take the Loop Rd, there's more to see along the way other than just the the main ruins. We actually enjoyed the smaller sites along the way more than the main one. But none the less all awesome to see.

I came here as a child and loved It! Still a fun experience as an adult but we were extremely disappointed the blow hole is closed. That's is honestly the reason we went and we felt super jipped we spent the full 20 bucks and no where were we told or saw info on the blow hole being inaccessible
