The cabin was perfect, again. We love staying here, it's quiet and out of the way and feels so comfortable. It's such a nice break from the city in a beautiful cabin, perfectly setup to enjoy a nice peaceful time.
My husband and I had such a relaxing and heart warming time staying at Lazy Bear Lodge for a quiet weekend away to celebrate his 30th birthday! We were able to take our dog Max with us and that made it even better. The cabin had all linens and cookware needed and comfortable/clean atmosphere but as a bonus they had it decorated for Christmas which simply made it feel like home. Just as a helpful piece of info, the road leading to the cabin is a bit rough (it is in the woods after all) so expecially during a winter visit a 4 wheel drive vehicle is best! (We drive a Subaru and didn’t have an issue but there were rocks/steep climb up the driveway). My husband and I would highly recommend this for any kind of getaway, romantic, family, etc!
This cabin was exactly as pictured and very quaint. Just what we were looking for and expecting. Our kids loved the loft and the spooky, overgrown cemetery which was fitting for October. We were so happy to bring our dog, too. We had a great, but short, weekend.
This is our 2nd stay at the Lazy Bear and once again the peace, serenity and sanctuary this cabin offers is heaven on earth. What a great place to regroup, catch your second wind and enjoy the solitude...
My wife, daughter and I, along with our dog, spent 5 awesome days at Lazy Bear Lodge. The location is great. Lazy Bear is close enough to town and SNP that it was easy to go get dinner or groceries, or go out for a morning of exploring at SNP. At the same time it was secluded enough to enjoy nature and get away from everything. My wife and I spent our mornings on the front porch drinking coffee and planning out our day and we all spent a couple of the evenings by the fire pit enjoying the fire and the hundreds of fireflies.
Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience. From the wood supplied in the storage bins outside, to the k-cups for getting our daily dose of caffeine.
Lynnette was always very responsive to any questions we had while planning our trip, as well as during our stay. When we make our way back to the Shenandoah Valley we will definitely be using Lazy Bear as our base camp.
