This is a well maintained, immaculate, cozy cabin along the Shenandoah river. If you enjoy nature and want a serene setting this is a 5 star location. Enjoy outdoor camp fires either by the river or by your cottage. There are 4 cottages on a 3 acre property. I recommend either the Anger's nest where we stayed or the Angler's Addiction cabins. Each of these have a view of the river and fire pits. The town of Luray and the Luray caverns are about a 20 minute drive through a gorgeous country road. The cabins do not have internet. We were not able to get phone service with Verizon, but I understand that Sprint service may work. We were able to get service a short distance up the road. This actually was a plus for us, which made the vacation more relaxing. Shenandoah park Thornton Gap entrance was 30-40 min away. Pots in the cabin were worn so we ended up buying a pot and a sharp knife. We brought our linens and blankets. We had beautiful weather and did not need the heater. The bedroom had a heater, ask about bringing one for the family room if you anticipate cold weather.

This was a last minute reservation for us during 4th of July weekend. We stayed in Anglers Nest (one of 4 cabins pretty close to each other). The cabin itself is very basic. No land line telephone, no radio, there is a tv, but no channels (only use of a DVD, so remember DVDs), no board games or cards or any entertainment, so remember to take those too. Also, for 2 adults for 3 1/2 days, they only supplied 1 roll of toilet paper, so take extra toilet paper. The only possible issue you may have will depend on the type of neighbors that check in next to you or behind you. The cabins are very close to each other. Our neighbor blasted very loud music outside at night which killed the mood of our peaceful fire pit. The benefit of this cabin was being able to take our kayaks out off the property to river access, as well as ride our bikes up and down page valley. The check-in/out process was cumbersome to me because instead of getting the key from a locked box at the cabin, you have to pick it up and drop it off at the office which is a 30 minute drive from the cabin. The staff at the office (Christie), including the owner (Patricia), were very helpful, responsive and friendly.
