“Trip to SanAntonio”
Reviewed 5 April 2012

We were in San Antonio for a convention and spent our last 3 nights down on the Riverwalk. We booked a king room with a balcony. our room was on the 14th floor, in the San Fernando tower ( a bit tricky to find your way at first) and looked down on a plaza and the riverwalk. The room was hugh.....bedroom was seperate from living area and the living area had a sink, fridge, coffee maker and microwave, with a little table and chairs to eat at. The hotel had a "happy hour" with lots of food to choose from and you got 3 drinks. They also served a great hot breakfast in the morning. The hotel is an old bank and the main lobby is spectacular and the old vault is still in the basment. There was a great rooftop balcony on our tower where we could sit and visit and enjoy the veiws. location fantastic for everything downtown.

Room Tip: We paid a bit extra for the king suite with balcony and got a hugh room with fabulous veiw.

We had a fine stay at the Drury Plaza. The building is unique as it was the Alamo Bank in a previous life. The location is great as it sits right on the RiverWalk. The old bank vaults are on display in the basement as you make your way to Riverwalk access doors. Each late afternoon, the hotel offers hot snacks and drinks for hotel guests. It was okay only because it came at no additional charge. The chicken strips I had were room temp. Morning breakfast was better as it included scrambled eggs, sausages, and pancakes. All are served buffet style in chafing dishes. Fruit and yogurt was also available. We reserved a standard room, but found that they had upgraded us to a deluxe room with jacuzzi tub. Hotel provided free wired and wireless internet. Great customer service. After delivering our luggage, the bellhop left so quickly that I had to chase him down to tip him.

This is a great place to stay while in San Antonio. Favorite things about this hotel: 1) location- easy access to restaurants, 2) Free happy hour/snacks and breakfast, 3) rooftop pool, 4) nice rooms, 5)big, open lobby. You won't be disappointed...a really good value for what you pay! Also, we were upgraded for free to one of the massive corner suites...super sexy=)

Room Tip: go for the corner suite if it's on sale

I stayed here with my daughter and sons girlfriend along with my parents while attending my sons graduation from BMT at Lackland AFB. When trying to decide where to stay I read all the reviews I could on all the hotels in the area and just kept coming back to this one. A main theme that ran throughout most of the review was the quality of service provided by this hotel and I have to say I whole heartedly agree! From the awesome valets who kept my car out most of the time so we could have quick access to it as time with my son was short and precious all the way up to managers, everyone was incredible. My 81 year old father actually stopped a manager while we were eating (yummy) breakfast and told him how incredible all the staff was. The rooms were nice, the location was great as it was in a central location. Going back to the valets, we had gps that we got with the car we rented but for the 1st 3 days it rarely worked and the valets were right there giving out directions (easy, quick) and if they didn't know where someplace was, they PULLED OUT THEIR PHONES and looked it up. We all agreed that if we ever came back to San Antonio we would stay there. My son is off to Sheppards AFB so look for a review for the hotel we stay in there in a few months! Thanks Drury you all ROCKED!
