“OK; no surprises, usual chain restaurant food; noisy”
Reviewed 26 February 2012

Convenient for nearby offices, so tends to be busy and noisy during lunchtimes and after work. The food is OK but nothing to get excited about.

“Don't go anywhere else if you like seafood.....”
Reviewed 22 February 2012

It was actually the third time I had been there, and the food and the service has been consistently excellent. I have had different dishes each time I have gone, and I haven't had better elsewhere. Additionally, they will cook whatever you want regardless of what is on the menu. It is wonderful and not to miss if you are in San Antonio.

“Good quality and value from a large and varied menu”
Reviewed 20 February 2012

Despite being there on a very busy night, we had a good experience at this restaurant. Service was prompt and professional. The margaritas were quite good. Seafood is clearly the house specialty but those in our party who did not order seafood were pleased as well. Only complaint is that they don't take reservations. We were told we'd be "put on a list" and given priority for seating but either that wasn't the case or everyone else there was also on "the list". Nevertheless, we would happily go back.

“I Love This Place”
Reviewed 18 February 2012

Pappadeaux is one of our favorite restaurants. We have eaten in their restaurants in San Antonio, Denver and Albuquerque. Whenever we are in San Antonio we always go. We enjoy sitting at the bar and watching the crew at work. Great service and good cheer. I love the food. Fresh seafood and many Cajun specialties. My favorite is the Crawfish Platter; fried Crawfish and Crawfish Etoufee on a large plate. Wonderful. My wife loves their cooked oyster plates. She recently had a Maine Lobster and found it not cooked to her liking but everything else we have ever had has been great. It seems to be a locals place because it is always packed. Happy Hours are fun and their specials always good. They are always crowded which we take as a very good indication. We will always come back anytime we are in San Antonio.

“Great raw oysters”
Reviewed 18 February 2012

During the winter months we go for the fresh oysters once a week: never had a bad oyster here. We pair them with the Greek salad and have a perfect meal. We have also tried a number of the grilled or fried seafood meals and have usually been happy. The fried oysters are a bit salty, and if you like hot tea, it will NEVER be hot. But if you want trustworthy raw oysters, you will be happy.
