This is the spot and you have to get the Macho. Incredible Hamburger with tons of cheese, tortillas, and re fried beans. The atmosphere is authentic and the French fries are the best. You won't be disappointed.

We went to lunch expecting great burgers and fries as we heard that that it had one of the best burgers in San Antonio. We were disappointed in both. You need to stand in line to order your food, which was efficient, and then pickup your order (gave you a buzzer when you ordered). Order was available within 10 minutes...excellent! We had the macho (1/2 lb) cheesy burger and flaming jalapeño cheesy burgers, respectively, with an order of fries. Burgers were over-cooked and had too much cheese on them to easily pick them up (had to eat them with a knife and fork....a burger with a knife and fork???!!!). The burgers were also very salty. Maybe the smaller burgers are better. The fries were greasy and unappetizing. Parking available but the parking lot needs to be resurfaced. There is outside dining on picnic tables. Menu for lunch is small. This restaurant does not live up to their reputation, in my opinion. Don't think that we'll make a return visit.

I recently moved to San Antonio and have been trying a lot of non-chain restaurants. The food so far has been great but I haven't taken the time to review any restaurant on TripAdvisor, yet. However, today I had one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. The meat tasted delicious fresh ingredients and the ambiance is very cool. Very friendly service on top of it.

Whenever we visit San Antonio, we have a meal at Chris Madrid's. Be prepared for big crowds on the weekends and a tight ordering area. The burgers are excellent, with fresh toppings and a toasted bun. But our favorite has to be the bean chalupas - YUM! It's a big, noisy place with lots of families and friends enjoying the inside dining room, the bar and the outside patio.

The burgers here are amazing! Unlike other burgers that you can't even get your mouth around, these burgers are horizontally huge, but vertically viable - you can actually enjoy the great flavors on the burger without having to unhinge your jaws. My only comment where there is room for improvement would be the fries; they were a bit greasy, but I still finished mine. :-P
