went to this place after receiving a strong recommendation. neat spot, along the river walk. older building with stylish decor. pretty decent menu - lots of comfort food. was there on a sunday night during the final four and somehow this place seemed to be out of most everything we wanted to eat. find it hard to believe that knowing a huge event would be in town that you would not stock up. in any case found something else to nibble on. would perhaps go back but must say was a bit irritated that they were not more prepared

The food here was really good. The patio however is very small, maybe 3 tables, and the wait for a table on the patio can be long. The atmosphere inside was fun and comfortable.

Stopped for a bite at this river front tavern walking distance from our hotel. Fabulous. Drinks are expensive but are like two drinks. Best hot meatloaf sandwich ever. Seriously. Beautiful fresh cut 1/2” fries. Good service. Watch the river trams go by and the captain says of the Esquire Tavern “Opened the day prohibition ended in 1933” wow. Beautiful old fashioned bar.

Esquire Tavern definitely has the feel of a tavern of the food is way more inventive & flavorful than typical bar food! With an eclectic, Mexican flair the food is flavorful & unique along with some creative cocktails to go along with it! The service was a little slow, but we weren't in a hurry!

A great local spot. Excellent food and drink. The service is a little slow, but I think that is a function of the kitchen and not of the staff.
