The hotel itself is great. Updated and nice layout. I loved the bar area, although it may not be suitable for travelers that would like quiet. I enjoyed every minute of it. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was clean overall. My only issue is the customer service which was lacking at best. I had to file a complaint to get them to apologize to me for the rude and almost non-existent customer service. Nice hotel to try as long as you do not need assistance from the staff.

One of the nicest place I have stayed at. Good location on the North Side of San Antonio. Easy access to downtown (a little traffic in evening). Many place to eat close to hotel. Hotel was very clean with nice amenities. Breakfast is available for a small cost but worth it.

So I checked in (last night of a grueling week of work on the road) and looked forward to some low key relaxation along with a nearby business dinner. When I checked in, the front desk agent nicely announced that it was "jazz night' with great music from 5-9pm and the bar would be open until 2am. Fair enough.

Reality: I'm on the 5th floor and can hear the music (blasting inside and outside by the pool reverberating up the exterior walls of the hotel). It's definitely not jazz. It's hip-hop. I walked down to the bar to find a silly looking table set up and charging people $10 cover to walk into the lobby. It's not the crowd you'd expect at a W, much less an aloft. Tacky. Loud. Obnoxiously loud bass (sounds like those cars cruising around the 'hood). And it's like the party organizers have taken the hotel away from the hotel guests -- and very few people have actually shown up for all this stupidity.

So much for the afternoon nap before dinner.

This place is just awful. And it's definitely not jazz (which also seemed kinda odd for an aloft!) I want out of here!

Room tip: Find another nearby hotel that's quieter or at least has a decent party scene.

This place is very special to my husband and I, so we decided to extend our weekend out of town and stay here for a night. This hotel has gone way downhill over the years. The floors in our room are filthy. The shower stunk and had dried "2 in 1" shampoo/conditioner stuck in the dispenser. The fixtures are all crusty from God knows what. Lol.. anyway, the cherry on top of the crap sundae was when I went to the lobby to get a couple of sodas (two to be exact) and was told that would be seven dollars. I thought I misunderstood. Nope. No misunderstanding. Three dollars and fifty cents for a bottle of soda.

I believe our days of aloft are sadly coming to an end. Give me a Marriott Courtyard any day of the week. At least you get free cereal there.

This is a fun, unique place. The rooms were modern, comfortable and very clean. We enjoyed the bar area with a pool table and a great outdoor patio with fireplace and lots of lounge areas. Would recommend staying here especially if going to the airport as it offers shuttle service.
