Helpful staff at visitors center. Beautiful trails. Very buzy place so go early. Large parking lot with an overflow parking that can fit RVs. $7 parking is free with national parks year pass.
Hop on/hop off Shuttle service from the visitors center to top of mountain for $10@ or you can walk on the road if you prefer. Bring lots of water and snacks. Many washrooms and picnic areas along the way. Great place for kids and for all ages.

We did Bear Trail to 7 Falls.

If interested in this trail, suggest to start directly from visitor center. Waiting and paying for bus (5$ each) not really necessary for this trail if you are willing to walk an 'extra mile'. Trailhead then starts right hand side visitor center.

Entrance fee (which is de facto a fee for the aprking lot) with Annual 'America the beautiful' pass is free.

Great place to go hiking. We took the shuttle up the canyon and stayed on the main road and had a superb time hiking all the way down the canyon. I know there are also other paths that take you various places which look great as well. We met nice people, stay beautiful scenery and got to have a good hike as well. Great place to go. We were able to use our National Park Pass here.

This is the first thing we did in Tucson and I loved the views. Didn’t hike as we have a 4 year old but lovely cacti, friendly and passionate staff. Took the tram ride - I think this is what made it fun. Not sure if I am mixing up attractions but there were no fumes from the tram and narration excellent. It was crowded on a weekday but I would visit again. Recommend it with small kids as well.

It is a wonderful place to experience the nature of the Sonora desert. You can either walk, hike or take the tram but whatever you choose you can deftly have fun out here all day long. So wonderful place for singles families or anyone. One way from the beginning to the end is 3.7 miles of different inclines and declines with hills. There's ducks in some of the water that goes across the street but is safe to pass. Remember when monsoon season comes to be aware of your surroundings in case of Flash flooding.
