I have been here many times and have seen the restoration. This is an amazing mission with an amazing view inside and out.
There are high end Native American crafts to look over and purchase too.

The drive was well worth it. When you walk into the church you are looking at the most amazing sight. The detail of the statues and carvings was beautiful. They have restored the inside to give you the feel of what it looked like originally but not to be as if it were new. Be sure to stop by the museum and watch the video.

Very beautiful example of a 1700's mission. If you like history this will be worth taking an hour out of your day to visit.

The Mission stands out as a gleaming white edifice in the desert. Videos and museum help with information about restoration efforts over the years. There are several First Nations artisans in the outbuildings selling jewellery and art work, I could find no mention of the circular stone (Medicine Wheel?) in the area outside of the mission. Fry bread and other refreshments are sold outside,

You can visit this attraction and not be required to spend any money! You can choose to make a donation or buy something from the gift shop, but there is no entrance fee and the tours are free. We enjoyed the church decor, the fact it is still in use, but many of the parts are very old. This is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Mission San Xavier is not necessarily a good site to visit in rainy or very hot weather. You need to walk outside to move between the church and the various parts of the grounds.
