I found the place to be vary dated and not well kept up at that, The beds needed to be replace as well as all the furniture. Access was very acuard with most rooms not available to roll large luguege to with out going up or down steps.

I did find staf to be friendly.

Thank you so much for your comments. We do value your opinion of our hotel. Our hotel is an older hotel, but we have done many upgrades recently and we also try to maintain in it very well. We can not change the layout of the hotel, but our friendly staff is here to help you with your luggage at your request. Also, we do have some rooms that are accessible without having to go down the two or three steps with your luggage. We hope you will give us another chance.

The Barcelona Suites was built in the 1960's as apartments and converted in the 1980's to suites for visitors to Albuquerque, N.M. It shows its age but also it shows its class. Secure parking and spacious living accommodations. A hot breakfast is included with the room but it is always the same menu of eggs, sausage, and hash-browns with the occasional french toast or pancakes.
The staff is VERY helpful and quick to meet our expectations.
If you get a room in the North ? end of the building you will have to climb 5 stairs ( THIS MEANS NO LUGGAGE CART ACCESS ! but the staff will help ) because the floors are not at the same level as the other end or the elevators.
We enjoyed our stay and are planning on a return next year.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the same level with the elevators away from the atrium.

This landmark Southwestern hotel has seen better days, no doubt, but we enjoyed the towering lobby, spacious dining area/ballroom, and very comfortable suite-style room. No need to watch TV from the bed. Advice to other travelers, and for our own next visit, would be to request a room in the Northwest quadrant , further away from the late-night traffic noise from two busy streets. Rooms are well soundproofed and drapes are heavy, but windows do let it some street sounds.
Breakfast was a pleasant surprise: cooked-to-order eggs and fixin's instead of do-it-yourself waffles or cold cereal, though the cereal, plus yogurt, and fresh fruits, were available too. Coffee could be better, but, all in all, a real breakfast.
Good value for the money, as it's close to Uptown shops and not far off the interstate. Will definitely stay there again.
Around the corner, in walking distance, is a steak and seafood restaurant called The Cooperage, where we enjoyed an incredibly tender prime rib and huge salad bar.

This property is a converted apartment complex. As such, it presents some challenges for hotel patrons -- lots of stairs and not always corresponding elevator stops for every set of rooms. So, if you've got a lot of luggage, this might not be the place for you. However, that said, these small suites are pretty comfy and include a small kitchenette. I liked the fact that many of the suites had access from an interior court, so there was abundant sunshine coming into the suite. The covered parking is secured by electronic gates. The complimentary breakfast included eggs and pancakes cooked to order. It is in midtown Albuquerque, near the State Fairgrounds and the ABQ Uptown shopping complex.

Absolutely perfect accommodations and real customer service...been there 2 years in a row each time staff were friendly, helpful and patient. Events going on there did not interfere with rest and breakfast freshly prepped and cooked for you as part of the package. Planning my next trip already and staying in the large rooms at great rates will continue to be part of my plan.

Thank you for the old school approach to providing great services.

Room Tip: just ask for what you want
