To hear the choir in concert is remarkable. They sing usually in the Conference center which is huge. Seats are free but a challenge to secure online. Often they have a guest personality or singer, and they are top notch. You can get into a rehearsal more easily. I am not a musician or a music lover, so I found the rehearsal boring. All concerts are free. (PS: I am not Mormon.)

We were fortunate to be in town on a Sunday morning and able to attend a free concert ! Very friendly, wonderful seating -- a little hard to hear the choir over the impressive orchestra but overall a wonderful experience.

If you are ever in Salt Lake City, this is the one thing that you simply cannot miss. It is one thing to hear this choir on a recording, but it is an entirely different, and even better experience in person. They rehearse every Thursday evening from 7:00-9:30 p.m., and the rehearsals are open to the public starting at 7:30 p.m. If you are in town on a Sunday, you can stop in to watch a live performance of the choir's weekly radio and TV show called "Music and the Spoken Word." If you're lucky enough to get tickets to one of their major concerts (like at Christmas), count yourself blessed, because there are only 21,000 seats in the auditorium where they sing, but there are literally over a million requests for tickets. You don't need tickets or advance reservations for the rehearsals or Sunday shows, but you will need a ticket for the larger performances. But don't worry. Even that is a bargain, since all tickets are free of charge! You just need to find one. To do so, keep an eye on the choir's website @ mormontabernaclechoir.org.

Check out the concert schedule and that yourself. Also, if you are there on a Thursday, you will be able to observe the choir rehearsal.

Although this was just choir rehearsal, it was awesome to hear. Top of my bucket list was hearing them sing live. Don't miss this.
