“getting a bad rap”

i stayed at the skyline on a recent trip to the hospital for my wife. i had a nice clean room and had access to an indoor pool and hottub. but what really made me feel like 'at home' was the fact on my first nite there i left early for the hospital in the morning and when i returned my bed had been made and trash emptied with fresh towels in the bathroom. at the end of my bed was a an extra pillow with a note that said she had noticed that i had rolled up my coat to use as an extra pillow so she was leaving me one to make my stay more comfortable and if i needed anything else just contact the front desk. it was just a pillow. but it was a pillow i didnt have to ask for.

  • Liked — the staff. all friendly and will go out of their way for you
  • Disliked — initially, not enough pillows

We have stayed at the Skyline Inn twice during ski trips to Salt Lake City. It is extremely well located for getting to the ski resorts, on the bench on the east side of the city, about 15 minutes' drive from downtown and about a half hour drive from the Cottonwood Canyons, a little further to Park City.

The place is not perfect, and needs some renovations and repairs, but it is clean and comfortable -- all I really expect for the price (we paid $70/night for a large room with two queen beds). The management is very friendly and helpful. There is a pitiful contintental breakfast (sugar donuts, bags of supermarket bagels, a toaster, and the world's worst coffee), but also a decent hot tub which is great after a day of skiing. If you want a clean, inexpensive place to sleep, this is it.
