We have stayed at the Skyline Inn twice during ski trips to Salt Lake City. It is extremely well located for getting to the ski resorts, on the bench on the east side of the city, about 15 minutes' drive from downtown and about a half hour drive from the Cottonwood Canyons, a little further to Park City.

The place is not perfect, and needs some renovations and repairs, but it is clean and comfortable -- all I really expect for the price (we paid $70/night for a large room with two queen beds). The management is very friendly and helpful. There is a pitiful contintental breakfast (sugar donuts, bags of supermarket bagels, a toaster, and the world's worst coffee), but also a decent hot tub which is great after a day of skiing. If you want a clean, inexpensive place to sleep, this is it.
