We are a family of 3 with a 11 year old boy travelling through Fox Glacier. Its a small town to begin with. This hotel is walking distance to the restaurants, glowworm trail. Nice clean rooms. Good enough if you are only using it as a place to sleep.
The guiding center, helicopter rides, everything was very close.

Breakfast was adequate.

Cafe Neve and the Indian Kitchen were good restaurants that we visited.

We stayed here for one night as part of a coach tour, and initial impressions of the hotel were a little disappointing. Ideally I would have rated this hotel as good rather than very good but TA does not allow this.

Our room was quite a walk through long corridors, and was in a separate single storey building. However, the room itself was fine, clean, a decent size and comfortably furnished, with a good sized bathroom. We slept well.

What influenced me to rate the hotel as very good was the quality of the restaurant food, which was really excellent, and the hotel bar which had a really good atmosphere. Service in the hotel was also very good.

There is a limited choice of accommodation in Fox Glacier, and we enjoyed our short stay at this hotel.

We stayed 2 nights. It was just fine.

Check in was simple. Our room was around the corner from check-in, in the building that faced the Main Street through Fox Glacier. The room was comfortable and clean, with a tv, coffee making, and a decent bathroom. It's location is great. We could walk out of the room, cross the street and eat at the various places there. For some reason we didn't eat at the hotels facilities - no particular issue, just we liked a bar across the road.

Plenty of parking available, and the room was made up by housekeeping very well, and quickly after we went out.

The bed was comfortable, but the room was warm at times, so we opened the windows. Of course, at ground floor level, that opens the noise outside into your room. It wasn't a disaster, but just keep it in mind.

Decent value for money in my opinion.

Room Tip: I'd aim for the rear, non street facing perhaps.

This place is old, well-worn, and oddly constructed. The lobby and restaurant looked like survivors from the seventies, or maybe even the fifties.

Our room was in a building that looked like a kind of long shed. Our window faced directly into some bushes.

Oddly, however, I slept very well here, and unlike other places we stayed, the room was quiet. We were staying for only one night, and by this time in our tour, we had learned we could not have very high expectations.

I am surprised that a place as old-fashioned as this one does such a high volume of business. But I assume this is a matter of there being very few hotels to handle the volume of visitors.

I would not exactly recommend this place, but if you have no other choice, it is adequate.

Stayed here for one night and that was enough. The rooms are adequate but the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything that is going on. Really needs revamping as everything is quite old and dated. Staff are really friendly and helpful though.
