We stopped in for lunch and expected typical pub grub and that is exactly what we got and they did it very well. Toasted Sandwich & Chips and the Corn Fritter stack with a fresh salad, Corn & Capsicum and 3 nicely cooked Corn Fritters coated in Sweet Chilli Sauce. Service was quick and efficient.

We visited for few drinks and dinner on Waitangi Day ... Hotel was jammed packed with locals, cyclists, bike riders, tourists and others.
Meals and drinks all served promptly and quality was good.

This past weekend 5 of us travelled through Omarama on our way to Queenstown & stopped there both ways.
On Friday the service we received when ordering drinks wasn't very friendly, but we didn't think a lot about it & gave them another chance by stopping in again on Sunday.
Sunday we were there at lunchtime & ordered food which was nice & didn't take too long to arrive, but then when one of our party went to order a coffee he was told they were too busy to do that - but when we were leaving we saw some people with coffee!!
Yes, they were busy, but as there were a couple of events on over the weekend in Cromwell & Queenstown maybe they should have organised for more staff.
One of our party had also tried to call 4 times on Thursday night to book accommodation when he was passing through for work & no-one answered the phone, so he went via Oamaru instead. He asked them about it on Friday & was told that when they are busy they don't answer the phone - so missed out on a booking.

Stopped for a quick lunch snack at the pub on the corner. The potato wedges (topped with bacon and melted cheese), served with sour cream and chili sauce, were really tasty and the portion was sufficient for two people. However, the toasted egg and bacon sandwiches were very dry, whilst the potato chips that accompanied them, were good though.

Stopped for fish n chips - quality was OK but the blue cod was $8.50 per piece (which is ok) but these were the smallest pieces you have ever seen - a total rip off.
