Have passed this place on the way up North for well over 40 years and never visited up the drive. Didn't know what to expect as you don't see the cafe until you have gone up the curved driveway from the road. Quaint sort of place, signs with witty remarks on them but very cheerful. The lady that looked after the place was super friendly and the meals we ordered were brought out swiftly and were very nice. There are very pleasant walks in the bush above the restaurant with brilliant views. Must go back when we are not too rushed and explore the trails.

Charming cafe with resident cat and cockerel. Outside is a small car covered in I think carpet and made to look like a rabbit. It's well photographed by visitors. Coffee good made even better by looking out over the surrounding area. You can walk higher to a look out.

After a 4.5hr bush walk from Govan Wilson Rd. it's great to see the cafe as you come down the hill. Good choice of food/drinks.

We missed lunch as we drove hurriedly south from the Bay of Islands so were relieved to see that the Top of the Dome Café stays open till 5 pm including Sundays. A late meal at 4 pm proved a pleasure with mouthwatering fried chicken pieces with a Parmesan coating, warm roast vegetables and a hearty, filling coconut flavoured pumpkin soup. Delicious food served with thought and style by Jocelyn. Will definitely return for the food and next time the one or two hour walks which start at the Café. Bravo Team TOTDC.
