The staff there were really nice and gave us 2 scavenger hunts to complete, one inside and one outside (lots of walking but its fun and you get a little prize as a souvenir). They had lots of parking and great views. Lots of picnic spots if you wanted to eat.

Worth the short hike to see the views of the harbour and of Placentia. My husband lived here for a year at the start of his career. It was great for him to show me around and was pleased that we made the short hike up to enjoy the views.

We happened to be driving through Placentia and were told by a local that we should visit Castle Hill. Off we went up the hill and were not disappointed. What a great place, very informative, the staff were so friendly and the views were beautiful. I would recommend this place for a visit!

Paired visiting here with our trip to Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve and enjoyed our time spent here. Exploring the ruins, taking in the beautiful views and hiking the trail were all a nice way to spend the afternoon. The staff at the interpretation centre were very friendly and informative, the bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of parking. There were many spots to have a picnic if you wish and there is a gift shop on site as well. There was a small fee (less than $4 each per adult). I would recommend visiting here when in the area.

Been many years wanting to visit Castle Hill National Historic Site and today we finally made the road trip!

I was impressed to see people sitting having lunches at the several picnic tables available in the area when we arrived. Nice job Castle Hill! We chose a little private picnic table under tree covers with shade to have a seat and hoped it would be available when we finished our little tour.

There were nice little wooded side paths to take off the main trail. We checked out a couple. We checked out the top of the hill and enjoyed the view. That beautiful view was unexpected and postcard perfect. Took lots of pictures, hid a geocache, found a geocache and headed down the the Visitor Center for the awesome displays and lots more pictures. 4 staff members were right up front to assist anyone with questions or needing assistance.

We were happy to find our chosen picnic table unoccupied and sat down for a picnic before setting off on some more adventures.

This place feels so welcoming. I can imagine people living near the area taking hikes there regularly or just stopping by for a picnic.
