Castle Hill is a National Historic Site located in Placentia, on the Cape Shore Drive in Placenta. My Wife and I had completed a cross country road trip in August 2017 and I stopped here in September on a return to Newfoundland to see a few things I missed. The visitor Centre was officially closed when I passed but I was allowed in to see the displays and I was very impressed. The site provides a good appreciation for early colony life and good insight into fishing colony life. This site will be appreciated by those interested in history and by those looking for an interesting place to have a picnic before boarding the Ferry to Nova Scotia.
