We spent 2 nights there on our way from Memphis to New Orleans.
The house is beautiful, quit street. The room, bed etc. - beautiful. The space that is open for all (including a little bar!) is so nicely decorated. The only thing - we had to share a bathroom and that is something we did not like (but it was clear from the very beginning, no complain!). Moving out you just leave your key and go - no one really cares.......:-(((.
Breakfast with a voucher at Dunleith in Natchez - just great. I would return ANY time. Recommendable

Room Tip: Ein Zimmer MIT Bad

We are very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay -- and I just had two reminders for readers: Just 3 of the (currently) 20 rooms that are part of our Boutique Hotel's "historic guest house campus" share a bath -- and we ensure that those listings are marked as such with commensurate pricing. Also, Starling's affords guests the option of having an "express check-out" in the mornings, if desired, or they are welcome to interact with us at the front desk or sun-room/coffee-area at the main property at any time -- and, by interacting with us, we often have a questionnaire as to your hotel-stay experience. If we have stepped away for a moment -- guests are reminded that by just pushing a button, we will interact with them via the video doorbell -- and will let them know the next moment we can meet them in the main property's foyer/front-desk area. We DO care -- and we wish you safe travels! :)

Kristine went out of her way to sort out our stay at Clifton House in one of the busiest weeks of the year. We could not believe the magnificent, uninterrupted view of the Mississippi from the house on top of the bluff and enjoyed our sundowners there very much indeed. And we did have fantastic sunsets!
We stayed in the Panorama Suite overlooking the river too - sheer luxury!
The house was beautifully renovated and it was great to have access to tea and coffee in the kitchen.
Kristine gave us great recommendations of very interesting houses to see and of places to eat too.
We will never forget this visit - Natchez is beautiful and Clifton House is heaven! We hope to return sometime to see all the places we didn't have time to visit.
Very many thanks Kristine and Paul.

We stayed 2 nights at the beautiful Clifton house up on the bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. The house is 104 years old (if I remember correctly) and has recently been refinished. I prefer the older antique style B&B but this one was still beautiful. We checked in at the office house at Starling Rest. This looks like a neat place to stay too but doesn't have the view of Clifton House a block over. Check in was very efficient and our host walked us over to the Clifton House and showed us around. There is a nice sitting area on the main floor and kitchen with a Keurig for coffee and an ice machine. The rooms all appeared to be spacious. Air conditioning and wifi worked great. We had the "Observatory" room which is on the entire 3rd floor. It was likely the attic at one time. Wow we couldn't believe this room. It had a sitting room with couches, pull out bed and wet bar. Then the other side had a huge bedroom with two comfy chairs overlooking the Mississippi. Just amazing. Could have stayed up in that room if there wasn't so much else to see and enjoy like the balcony downstairs! King size bed and pillows were very comfortable.
The balcony was very large with a number of nice chairs, couch and couch swing. What a great place to sit and watch the beautiful sunset.
It was an easy 10 min walk to the main streets with the restaurants.
What a memorable stay!

Room Tip: The Observatory room is unbeatable! There is another front facing room with a view of the river but I forget the name.

We stopped off in Natchez to rest our heads on way to Nashville. Starlings is a very well run, hospitable guest house with great vintage decor, lots of extras (coffees, liquor, water) an honesty bar & really cosy comfortable rooms. It's quiet, has off-road parking facilities & was a perfect spot to visit Natchez. Recommend.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay. It felt like home. It was my birthday weekend so we left to go out and about and Christina was nice enough to text us and offer recommendations and points of interest. I never felt unsafe, we had no trouble finding parking. The bed was comfortable, our room was clean and beautiful. Christina was so nice. I am amazed how every single thing you could ever need is there for you. There are signs everywhere that says to let them know if you need anything. The thing is, they mean it. I love the little town so much I think we will need to come back for a longer weekend or maybe even a week.

Room Tip: We rented the Magnolia Room. It is beautiful and big.
