Owner description: This historic Native American village features a museum, three ceremonial mounds, and a walking trail.
Reviewed 6 April 2018

This site succeeded Emerald Mound as ceremonial grounds for the Natchez Indians. It tells the tragic story of the disappearing of the tribe and the legacy they left.

The site provides a 20 minutes movie introduction which explains the colonial times and how the Natchez initially met the French and then got into wars.

Thought this would be far more interesting and would contain a lot more artefacts alas no very little there and the signage could have been a lot better. Very disappointing considering the area has such a rich history.

The visitor center for this site is wonderful. The information given is superb. Just a short walk to the mounds will refresh any seasoned traveler. Not flashy, not super touristy; just an awesome location showing respect for the culture gone before.
