Stayed 2 nights on a recent trip to see Mount Rushmore and the Badlands. Unfortuantely this was a disappointing stay. As mentioned in my title, there were just a lot of little things that influenced me in rating this a poor property.
For the good first, even though the room was small, it appeared cleaned. We also liked that the property was off from the main drag in Keystone so it was quiet during the day and evening. We also liked the pool.
But as for the negatives....again, a lot of little things that if one was by itself, wouldn't have impacted us as much but as a whole...just made us really disappointed. First, and the biggest issue was at check in and check out....there was issues with the reservation and payments. I know that there were new staff being trained but even so, the person in the know (not sure if she was a manager) also didn't seem to know what was going on or how to fix it and kept blaming the new employees which i thought was really unprofessional. In the end, my credit card was charged twice so had to try and resolve when I got home. Tried to speak with a manager but kept getting the run around and no return calls. Eventually it did get resolved but still no call back from a manager about it being fixed or explaining what had happened. Also during our stay, the hot tub was broken, the hairdryer in our room didn't work, the continental breakfast was sub-par, wifi was spotty at best, our room keys didn't work the second day, the bed was not very comfortable, and I could go on but I think the reader will get the point.
So I hope to go back to this area again real soon...but definitely will be finding a different hotel to stay at.
