I brought my daughter with so we could see Mount Rushmore. We had a prepaid reservation and did not arrive until 11:30pm. When we arrived, the staff was very polite and friendly. We have ZERO bad things to say about this place. My daughter loved the pool and it is literally minutes from Mount Rushmore! We recommend this place to anyone. One thing - they do not allow pets which is a bonus!

Stayed 2 nights on a recent trip to see Mount Rushmore and the Badlands. Unfortuantely this was a disappointing stay. As mentioned in my title, there were just a lot of little things that influenced me in rating this a poor property.

For the good first, even though the room was small, it appeared cleaned. We also liked that the property was off from the main drag in Keystone so it was quiet during the day and evening. We also liked the pool.

But as for the negatives....again, a lot of little things that if one was by itself, wouldn't have impacted us as much but as a whole...just made us really disappointed. First, and the biggest issue was at check in and check out....there was issues with the reservation and payments. I know that there were new staff being trained but even so, the person in the know (not sure if she was a manager) also didn't seem to know what was going on or how to fix it and kept blaming the new employees which i thought was really unprofessional. In the end, my credit card was charged twice so had to try and resolve when I got home. Tried to speak with a manager but kept getting the run around and no return calls. Eventually it did get resolved but still no call back from a manager about it being fixed or explaining what had happened. Also during our stay, the hot tub was broken, the hairdryer in our room didn't work, the continental breakfast was sub-par, wifi was spotty at best, our room keys didn't work the second day, the bed was not very comfortable, and I could go on but I think the reader will get the point.

So I hope to go back to this area again real soon...but definitely will be finding a different hotel to stay at.

I was pleased with this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room is small but very clean. It suited our needs just fine. It was close to shopping, Mt. Rushmore, family activities and restaurants.

Rooms small, but ok........poor TV selection for viewing at night, and wi-fi needs to be better service for more than 2 devices at one time. Pool area was ok and relatively quiet.
Vending machine for drinks were outside, very poor choice.

Room tip: need more info on type of rooms and location of rooms in hotel

Thank you for taking the time to review our property.
Our satellite television selections and WIFI capabilities are limited due to our remote location. We offer our guests the best services possible for our area. I understand that our vending machine locations are not ideal however it does help to have them outside the building for noise control in the evenings.
We appreciate your comments and suggestions and hope the rest of your vacation was pleasant.

The Memorial is beautiful and in a beautiful setting. Although we arrived close to 5pm which was closing time we could still walk through the memorial and take the walk along he base of it. The only reason I rated this a 4 was because of a very rude park ranger. We walked into the museum/visitor center, not realizing it was closing and he was very rude, as he informing us CURTLY that we had to exit the building. Later, I also realized I hadn't gotten my park passbook stamped either-a bummer!
