Only stayed the one night, but the staff were very helpful, and changed our room without question ,when we couldn't get the Wi Fi. The choice at breakfast was amazing. And we enjoyed a cocktail in the bar while we watched the flamenco dancing. We would stay again if in the area.

Room Tip: Could not ge Wi Fi on the 9th & 10t floors

Booked as a last minute deal for the half term school holidays. Quite a long transfer time from Malaga airport, but well worth it. Treated and greeted as royalty as soon as we arrived at 11.30 pm on 28th May 2016. Really good sized rooms and two huge double beds. Fridge in room for our use, but it would be handy for a kettle to be in there also. We stayed bed and breakfast and the restaurant was a pleasure to use. Always plenty of tables free, good choice on the buffet tables, even cava available. Staff very helpful and attentive. Always a smile and a warm welcome. We stayed to eat dinner at the hotel one night and this was excellent also. Bargain price of only 15 euros each INCLUDING drinks! Loads of sunbeds available throughout the day. Not many British guests, lots of French and Spanish, which was a bonus. Nice and quiet during the day and especially the night. A wonderful week in the sunshine and we will certainly return. Many thanks to the Hotel management and all of the staff for your friendliness and hard work.

Room Tip: Ask for an up-grade to the suites overlooking the beach. You never know you may get lucky!

This is one of the few hotels to which we return annually, often twice a year.
All hotel personnel is very friendly and is making serious efforts to help you in French/English where possible. One of the restaurant waiters even speaks some German and a bit of Dutch. Their effort is a general attitude and goes from receptionists over barmen, restaurant waiters, animators, room cleaning ladies to the hotel manager.
Food is very decent with a wide selection of cold and warm vegetables; fish, meats, stews, pastas, fruits, desserts, ...Food is partly prepared in advance, but includes also show cooking and even made to order cooking (e.g. omelets at breakfast, pancakes in the evening, ...). Everyday you can have cava at breakfast. On Saturday evening there is always a special buffet. And it is well known under the Spanisch guests, since it is very busy every week-end.
Rooms are kept clean, our linen is changed 3 times in a week and towels daily if you wish so. Go for a room on the higher floors (5th and higher). Views are beautiful and streetnoise is limited (if any).
Drinks are priced very reasonable and there is also a daily happy hour between 17.00 and 18.00 hrs. Buy one, get one free ! Additionally, they offer a cocktail of the day. It does not change daily but over a full week you often see 3 or 4 different offers. The average price of such a cocktail offer is 3 euro (but there the happy hour does not count, logically).
There is a public market every Friday at walking distance (about 1.5kms) which is worthwhile visiting.
Hotel is next to the promenade and opposite the beach. The city park and the castle are very nearby (at 5 minutes walk) and are also worth a visit. As is the tourism office at a few hundred meters of the hotel. A small gem, especially if you like fossiles.
Wifi is a bit of a problem. You have one hour free of charge in the lobby, but signal strength is limited. We did have some problems to get connection on our smartphone. Paid wifi is available in the room, but we do not know how well it works.
The hotel should consider giving this service free of charge in the rooms, especially in the higher-class rooms like the suites.
We can recommend this hotel. We will certainly continue to return.
P.S. If you think this review has helped you, please indicate so though your "support "vote. Thanks

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise and those with seaview offer some stunning sundowners.

I've stayed here a few times over the years and they have shaped up lately. We only used the hotels for a few nights over Easter, but if I had kids I'm sure that they would love it. Lots of activities in and out of the water. The breakfast buffet is worth the money with lots of options.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the street. Can ge a bit noicy but this usually ends around midnight.

The hotel was good, the only negative being the lack of free wifi. There was an hour of free wifi per 24hrs, however that was 9 months ago and it may be better now. The pool was great, plenty of loungers and brollies and very clear and clean. We did b&b and the breakfast was v.good, hot food, salads, cereals, loads of different breads plus plenty of toasters. A variety of juices and teas and coffees. All this buffet style- great. Almunecar town was wonderful very Spanish with 3 or 4 Piazzas surrounded by little cafe's for a mid-morning coffee or beer etc. There are plenty of shops if you want shopping and in the old town is a castle with museum which we loved. We were in early season so not many Brits, mostly Spanish and Scandinavians which was a plus. Easy to get around on local buses and local restaurants on average were good. All in all we really enjoyed our trip ( 1 week) no rain, 1 windy day, sun all week with temperatures around 28C. Great early season break.
