“hell nooooo.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2012

It was my first time to GA from DC so I was excited, to my surprise everything sucked. The breakfast was awful. The room was so small and housekeeping never cleaned my room. Also downtown atl seems to be a rough area.

Hi Jass816, thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay. A downtown location in major metropolitan city may not be everyone's ideal locale for a weekend of R&R. Many of our guests like the ability to park the car for the duration of their stay and walk to Atlanta's best attractions including The Georgia Aquarium, The World of Coca-Cola, CNN Studios, Philips Arena,The Geogia Dome and Centennial Olympic Park - all of which are within ten minutes walk from our hotel! Hey, I'm sorry to hear we failed to wow you with our breakfast and housekeeping service. We always want to improve and I would love to hear from you to get more insights and apologize properly. Please call me to discuss further!

The hotel is walking distance to the aquarium, the CNN building, the Coca Cola museum, and MARTA, and there are tens of restaurants within a two block radius. The hotel is classically built (1818 I think) and renovated with flat panel TV's in the rooms. There is a nice playground for kids across from the Aquarium.

We stayed in a 2-br suite and the room itself had everything we needed in the kitchen. We were two adults and three children, but the tableware settings in the room was for three people. There was a flat panel TV in each bedroom and one in the living room as well, which was a nice feature

The hotel has a very small gym, and at the time we went (Feb 2012) there was a sign in the gym stating that there was a complimentary membership at Gold's Gym a few blocks away.

One item to note is that when looking at the amenities for the hotel, a pool is not listed. However, once we arrived at the hotel, the front desk told us that we could go to a nearby Marriott to use their pool. Nice, but frustrating because we left our bathing suits at home.

They offer a complimentary Happy Hour along with a light dinner. The night we went they served spaghetti and garlic bread, and salad. This was a perfect alternative to going out, though there are many restaurants close by, The hotel does not have a full service restaurant.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and we were always met with a smile.

In summary, this was centrally located, and a decent bargain for the price.

Room Tip: The higher floors have fantastic views of the city.

This is an excellent hotel with many full service hotel features included. While there is no actual restaurant at the hotel, they do offer a beautiful daily breakfast buffet which even includes bacon and egg's (and sausage) among the typical waffles, pastries and cereal. In the evenings, there is another service which includes complimentary beer and wine, along with nachos, hors de curves, and other treats. This hotels normal standard weekday rate is around $159 for a studio I got my room here on priceline for less than $75(and got a free upgrade to boot) ncluding all taxes and fee's. They have both self and valet parking starting at $19 (which is very high) Metered street parking is available, (at standard city prices) Nearby lots will cost you around $10.

Room Tip: No matter what rate you book, inquire about an upgrade. The one bedroom suites are huge with separa...

This is my first time in a Residence Inn, I was expecting similiar accomodations like a Homewood Suites. (As both are aimed for long term stays with full kitchen). I was there on a Monday night, and it listed Monday night would be serving hot dogs. It doesn't sound appetizing to me, and even looking at the menus for other days, what they serve seems like really on the light side, no chicken or beef like Homewood Suites do. When they start serving the light dinner, it was Nachos instead ! They have the salad bar, but I was looking for something a little more substanial, definately not nachos. I am not sure about in general Residence Inn serve their light dinner always like a snack, or just about this property. The room I got was in a weird shape like a triangle, small living room with kitchen, and bigger bedroom. The glass in the bathroom looks clean from the outside, but clearly there was some stink when I look at the bottom, cleaning ladies need to pay more attention. Service was good both checkin and out. if they improve the quality of the light dinner they serve, I would give a higher rating.

This hotel is an historic landmark (used to be a bank in 1920's) and it si perfectly located right in the middle of downtown,2 blocks from MARTA and within walking distance of CNN, CocaCola, the Aquarium and many fabulous restaurants. The rooms are small but is very clean and everyone is very friendly. Breakfast is included every morning and the selection is extensive, prepared daily and served hot. There was a mini refrigerator, microwave, dishes and glasses and a sink in the room. The price is a steal when the location and all that it offers is considered. Will definitely stay there again.
