Set on the edge of Benahavis, the hotel is lovely! It is a typical Spanish building, with a big lobby and courtyard area! The hotel rooms are big and well maintained, and the electric window shutters are great for keeping the room dark in the morning! The air conditioning is good, and the small fridge is helpful!

The pool area is nice, but the mattresses for the sun loungers are kept outside, so they're stained and dirty! It rained one evening, so the next day the mattresses were wet and smelly!

The breakfast is also very basic, and could do with adding a few more items!

Stayed: September 2015

what a little gem , this hotel was in a beautiful setting just a little stroll away from some of the best restaurants in Spain.
lovely and clean and spacious bedroom , our room was over a court yard , but there were other at the side of the pool area .
Breakfast was very nice and plenty to choose from .
we would definitely go again .

Room Tip: 3 days is not enough

A large number of us spent a week in the Gran Hotel while in Spain for a wedding. The rooms are large and the beds comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Free Wi-Fi is available. Always plenty of beds available around the pools . Breakfast is excellent and snacks are available throughout the day. There is one hour a day spa time included in the room rate.

What's not to like about a hotel that has lovely large rooms with views, great staff, great food, acres of space with two pools to chose from (both with bars!) fabulous views of the picturesque village and mountains. Writing this on my very comfy sunbed, rose wine in hand, after a perfect paella lunch here at Gran Hotel Benahavis. The village is a few moments walk away. The coast is 10 mins by car...just far enough if you want peace and quality and an ideal place to relax.

Room Tip: We got a standard room with mountain views, although I perceive all rooms have a view, as mountains surround the village.

Beautiful building and good facilities. Initially disappointed as the housekeeping needs some supervision. No drinking glasses in the room. Tea making facilities but only two teabags and no milk. Bare floor. Only one shampoo and bath gel for two people to share. No hand soap. No instructions on how to work the tv in the room. These were all supplied upon request but it was an annoyance, when tired after a long journey, to have to ask for things that should have been in the room. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Nice swimming pool area and spa. Excellent breakfast with the best cooked fried eggs we have ever had in a hotel. The hotel was advertised with having in-room wifi but it hardly ever worked for more than a minute before cutting off. Even in public areas it was not too good.
