After a visit in Solomeo ( it was Sunday), where to go for lunch? They suggested us this place. What an experience! The "restaurant" is a little corner in a nice, small, cosy square in San Mariano.
I've read some comments saying "it's too small"; " you don't have space enough between the tables". You know what? Who cares! We even started to talk to some other guests, that they were seated close to us. You don't have menù or wine list, so listen and follow suggestions (and explications) from one of the Valter's son. The food is 0km, high quality. We tasted some antipasti ( salumi e formaggi) with the typical torta al testo, then carbonara, cacio e pepe, tricia. Amazing. We selected a white and red wine "della casa" and especially the white was really good. They told us the agnello was delicious but frankly speaking, we were already quite satiated, so we didn't order it. At the end, hand made tozzetti (we are in Umbria, so no cantuccini) and vin santo. The friends that selected zuppa inglese were not so impressed but, in general, the food, the ambience , the global experience has been great. And we spent 25€ each. The perfect italian mix: a friendly place were to taste good local products. Highly recommended!
