Because of the recent events and controversy over Civil War monuments I felt it was necessary to see this area before someone defaces or removes them. The monuments are quite large and pay due respect to these figures in history. They are some blocks apart in areas and therefore driving past them and stopping to see them individually is recommended. There is little parking on the avenue itself because of the residential parking along the road, but I managed to find spots for my viewing. Very nice.

Stopped here during our historical tour of Richmond. Beautiful neighborhood with thought provoking statues.

I never seen so many incredible well done statues in such a small area. It is worth the walk to see these monuments, regardless of you point of view on the surrounding issues.

Beautiful street with beautiful houses and impressive statue honoring those who chose poorly and killed a lot of people trying to ensure the right to enslave other people. I never would have believed it if I hadn't seen it first hand. Each needs a large readable sign saying things like "I would rather die than allow some to live free" or "I ordered the burning of Richmond, on my way out of town" or "let me serve as a reminder that not all ideas are good ideas."

As is it was well worth visiting for all, although without the labeling many are missing the true message.

Although embroiled in controversy over some statues, the beauty of them, the well kept grass medians, and the unique and beautiful homes and buildings make this a well worth it trip.
