We toured the monuments with friends who have lived in Richmond for years. They provided background information about each monument. Here’s the trivia. Confederate generals on horseback are facing the North if they died in combat. Robert E. Lee and Traveler are facing South because General Lee was alive when he surrendered to General Grant.

Hard to look at because they Monuments are not close together, and if you drive it is tough to park. Was there right after a protest, but situation was well under control.

This is a historic street in Richmond with several old row houses on either side and several monuments in the middle.

Wonderful monuments surrounded by historic neighborhood. Just driving down the street transports you to another time. Hoping that Richmond fights to keep them. History is something that needs to be remembered.

The pictures do not do these monuments justice. Some of them are absolutely massive statues on even larger pedestals. You can also check out some really cool architecture as you walk down the road in this great area of Richmond.
